Serana disappeared? here a solution

if like me, serana decided to just disappear and not following you. DONT PANIC.
for me she decided to get lost when i was escorting her to her's father castle.

open the console.
type: prid 04002b74
type: moveto player

VOILA.
other forum was asking to write help serana in console. it do give information but didnt gave me the ID of serana.

The first 2 numbers in your prid ( 04 in your case ) depends on your mod load order. It wont be the same for all other people and if loaded in the proper order I believe it should be 02.

indeed the Dawnguard dlc should be 02, 04 is usually Dragonborn

true that everywhere i read it say the it should begin by 01, 02 or 03.
but if no of those work like my case, try 04

I found a way to fix this if the console command above don't work for you(it didn't work for me) and if you still cant get Serana and can't get inside Castle Volikar.
If you didn't go in castle Volikar yet you can make the gate disappear by selecting it with the mouse while in the console and by typing: .disable
This will make the gate vanish and you can get inside the castle and continue the dawnguard quest. I hope Serana will come back later in the quest like she's supposed to or maybe I have no choice to be on the vampire lord's side not sure yet but at least I got the quest and the vampire lord form so far...

My go to is the Summon Serana mod. Works like a charm. Of course don't use it until you meet her for the first time.

Edit: It's now part of the Marry Serana Mod, my bad

But she does not have to be the wife...hmm, not with the old version which is what I have but I'm thinking it works the same with the "Marry me Serana" mod because from my understanding, and I could be wrong, they included the old "Summon Serana" mod in the "Marry Me Serana" Mod (either way the same feature is part of the mod). And yeah it's great because she likes to get lost at the wrong time and I don't play Skyrim to get married lol. Tried it long time ago and it's not in my must do things in Skyrim list. Anyway, I've been playing with the same playthrough for at least 8 months so I still have the old mod.

Edit: ok, it's been so long I had to go check my lo and I added the mod from Bethesda and it's still there on beth site. I use like 3 or 4 of their mods, same mods 3 or 4 like forever. not sure if it's included in the MMS mod either, I just looked & nothing mentioned about it on that page or posts that I saw. unless it was another marry serana type mod I was reading about.

It's easy to get it all mixed up, so many mods with similar/identical names, so many mods doing similar things, and of course they change things all the time, so that doesn't help.
