[SOLVED] Turn Off Blood (used ini setting)
Good Afternoon,

Under the original Skyrim (32 bit), there was a mod called "No Blood" that effectively turned off the blood. I have a young granddaughter who I do not want to see the gore in SE. How do I accomplish the same thing for the SE Edition?
Ref: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/36/?

- OR -

How do I modify the mod from Legacy to work in SE?

Thank You,

Sincerely and respectfully,

Dave

Someone in the comments of that page says that mod works on the SE version so download it manually and drop its contents into your games data folder.

Alternatively if you use Nexus Mod Manager , after you downloaded the mod manually click on the big green plus ( + ) button on the left and direct the manager to where you downloaded it. Double click it when you selected it , find it in your manager and activate it like any other mod.

If you want my opinion though your granddaughter shouldn't be playing this game. It has decapitations , impaled and burned to death characters , hints of r-ape ( really steam censors that ... ) and sex among other things.

Anyway tell me if it worked.

Roger that on my grand-daughter playing it. She doesn't! It's when she walks into my office unannounced that I don't want gore on the screen. Also, I am a military veteran, and I've seen eough blood to last a lifetime, so it is to protect her primarily, and then my personal preference second.

Thank you for the reply, I'll give your suggestion a try, and report back.

Ok give me a second the meshes it comes with may need to be converted to the new format.

Copy that----And thank you.

PS: Is there an online guide on using the SEEdit tool to do this for other mods I may want to include?

SEEdit doesn't convert meshes and such. For that i tried to use :

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/4089/?tab=3&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrimspecialedition%2Fajax%2Fmodimages%2F%3Fuser%3D0%26id%3D4089%26gid%3D1704

but it returns me an error since it doesn't convert those kinds of meshes
To be precise this is what i get :
"Face geometry, hair or particles currently can't be optimized."

Try deleting the meshes folder the mod comes with then install and see if it works at all ( doubt it ). I checked but unfortunately there's no ini value to turn it off either.

Make a post here requesting a similar mod : https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/
I feel it's easy to create but i have no experience with these modifications

As a last test turn your decal quantity in your graphics options of the game's launcher to none.
This may make blood not appear but also other effects.

Edit : to disable blood on your screen try to add this :

[BloodSplatter]
bBloodSplatterEnabled=0

at the start ( simply press enter and click on the now empty first line when you open the .ini i mention next ) of your SkyrimPrefs.ini file located in My Documents/My games/Skyrim Special Edition

2nd Edit : to convert other mods ( i personally did it myself for some and worked )
check this guide :

There's a really effective way to handle this through an ini setting. In Skyrim.ini, under [GENERAL], add this line:

bDisableAllGore=1

All blood and gore is removed, including decapitations and amputations. It goes a long way towards what you are looking to remove. This works in Fallout 3 and Skyrim. I haven't tested the setting in Fallout 4.

Unfortunately, there are still "spikes with bodies" hanging in certain areas that this doesn't remove. There used to be a "T for Teen" mod that removed skulls, spikes with bodies and all that other stuff, but it hasn't been updated for years, that I'm aware of.

Here kid, take this two-handed axe, murder everything you encounter. But no blood.

Did someone else test the fix to see if it worked for them too? My son always ends up coming over and wanting to help when I'm playing any games, so I haven't been able to play Skyrim at all:

Use BethINI[www.nexusmods.com] to manage .ini settings easily and effectively.
