TRUST me.
I was a Beta player, got some nice unique pets n stuff blah blah...
but at end of the day, all you need is the bog-standard game and you can get so much from the game just from playing it. Level up your crafting and join a guild making the best armour in the game etc... become a captain in a guild, help others etc...
You really do not need to buy all the best jingle jangle RUBBISH! They are trying to ram down your throat.
Spend the least money and have a good time. Maybe later on, when you have more money, you can buy DLC. But until then, enjoy building up your characters. The standard game is massive and LOTS of fun.
You might bump into me one day. Add me, just in case and I will help u out some time. Aye, I was a guild Captain and I have maxed characters. But MANY MANY of us are like that. So get the game, get a message out there in Zone chat that you wanna join a guild and get levelling with friendly players, and off you go :)
May your road lead you to warm sands.
That said Thieves guild stuff is kinda nice if you like that sort of thing. You can steal just fine without it but the flavor it adds is very much appreaciated.
I've been playing for 20+ hrs and feel I've barely scratched the surface. Iloved Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim... I feel very much at home here.
you can get the basic game and get the rest when you have enough money to pay for it. i did not subscribe it, i bought the dlcs and some cosmetic separate.
if you subscribe you "rent" the dlcs and what comes with it, as long as you continue paying upkeep fee for that subscribe. when you do that you do not "own" the content what comes with the subscribe you "rent" the content.
I'm still playing modded (massive one) Skyrim. But I want also to go beyond that, to play something new. So...
1. WHICH The Elder Scrolls® Online to buy? Best choice (money/value)?
2. Do I need monthly paying for be online and playing?
3. Can I enjoy the game solo? Okay, maybe I'll join a guild/group, but generally I'm a solo adventurer.
3. Yes. There are lot of very good quests and stories that you get to experience just like in Skyrim and Oblivion. Some quests are hilarious and some are very dark and mature. Very good solo experience. Might aswell play trough the main story plus most of the sidequest and then just quit after it because the game has this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid model where you can unlock stuff with real money and not through gameplay. Just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ horrible model.
Totally agree. I played ESO during the free weekend for a little while, but got bored of it after the starter dungeon. Everyone around me on the island had gear they obviously bought.
I only play one multiplayer game on Android. It's the only free to play game I have found where everything has to be earned before it can be bought (no buying XP), and everything can be bought with non-premium currency along with a small amount of premium currency. They give you premium currency just for logging in every day. The only exceptions are a few items that can only be unlocked by participating in a contest, which can't be bought by normal means at all.
Just be aware that ESO is a much simpler game than skyrim, it is fun, but it isn't skyrim online. I say this because the majority of complaints against ESO is that it isn't like skyrim.
