SE

somewhat better graphics,
DLC included automaticlly
will get Creation Club paid mods
mod community still updating, may not ever get the full Skyrim library

classic

less overall base grphics, but modding has made this a mute point
wont get creation club
DLC not included unless you buy legendary version
more mods than you know what to do with, many of DLC quality (Legacy of the Dragonborn comes to mind)

in the end, same exact vanilla content either way

you forgot the most important .
se is 64 bit..so no ramlimit
normal is 32 bit.
for some the se version runs smoother and stabler.

Better shadows with higher draw distance.
Native Ambient Occlusion shadows.
Volumetric Lighting outdoors.
Significantly better performance in CPU intensive areas.
Default FOV of 80. (Original is 65)

They went and did an edit on the name of a few perks in SE. They also compressed a few achievments/added them together.

Special Edition - They added a few graphics mods, not as good as the ones available in Original, but better than the vanilla skins.
Comes as Legendary Edition by default.
Has paid modding/microtransactions.
Fewer mods.

Original - Doesn't have the graphics mods pre-installed.
Choice of Legendary or Non-Legendary (DLC) versions.
Almost always on dirt cheap sale.
No microtransactions.
More mods than you could ever use.

Thanks guys, so SE is a little better and I won't need to pay any microtransactions?

when SKSE64 comes out then SE will over take oldrim fast. Any mod thats worth playing will be, or has been all ready, moved over to SE.

You not need to use any of the CC stuff from SE.

Well you never *need* too anyway. Unless you really want that Silver Colored Dwarven Armor that I *guarantee* will be a thing.

Not to derail the topic much but, given the quotes from the 2 software engineers behind SE, there's no plans to release a SE64 anymore.

Do you mean SKSE64? Because an Alpha version is currently available, for mod bug testing purposes, will full intent on doing a full release at some point.

Not according to the most recent engineer statement but you can find it yourself and tell me what you think. If they do intend to return to the project it won't be for a long, long time.

I emailed them and waiting for an answer . I guess that by the end of summer, they probably would habe SKSE64 ready, but if and when they answer me, we'll probably get a better answer.

I might be a exception seing all the "help me posts", but i have NEVER had a ctd or crash in Special edition, and normal skyrim edition had a lot of random crashes when playing.
here is my modlist for both versions: https://docs.google.com/document/d/17o6QQXJGFBk5YQCEo6Xh2MgA171oHEopyoj7WqSgVZY/edit?usp=sharing

same here

well I had several however ... mostly my fault due to keeping my 220+ mod list in check .... nothing severe however it tends to happen sometimes.
