Horses for followers? Buy more horses? Have horses follow you?

Ok, so I have a mod (Amazing Follower Tweaks) that lets followers ride a horse. Awesome.

But now I have another problem.

Since you can only buy one horse from each stable, that would mean I'd have to buy a horse, ride it to another stable, then buy another one for my follower. I guess I could do that, AFT does allow you to summon your follower to you if they get lost.

Though I'd rather have the option to buy multiple horses from a stable, or be able to have another riderless horse follow me. So for example I ride solo until I buy another horse, then drag that one back to where my follower is hanging out, then ride duo.

I'm also using Better Horses (not seeing much use ATM seeing as I don't have a horse), and it says it causes horses to flee combat. Do they come back to you once combat is over? I remember from playing classic Skyrim without mods, my horse ran off and I couldn't find it (this was before they added horseback fighting). If not, can anyone recommend a mod that causes your horse to come back to you or just outright summons your horse?

I use Convenient Horses, and all my followers have horses. There are better options in my opinion.

I use AFT with Convenient Horses and works pretty well.

If I were you I'd use the Convenient Horses mod rather than Better horses, it has more useful features imo. Once you've done the "training" quest, you're all set. You can also buy a horse from any stable for your follower after training (there is a dialogue with the follower for this, basically you give them 1,000 and they go to the closest stable). I never had any glitches with Convenient Horses.

I'm also using Convenient Horses and I'm loving it.
You can call you horse, and will come to you. Or if you left it in the other side of Skyrim you can use a magical horn to teleport it to you.
And you can configure if you want the horse to assist you in combat, to wait or flee.
Plus the saddles are pretty nice.

Still, I haven't give my Lydia an horse, because I'm a cheapskate and the worst boss ever.
But at least I heal her! Sometimes.

How do you mean? As in having followers (I only intend to use 1 follower during gameplay) ride horses breaks Convenient Horses?

Honestly I'd love to know the answer to this myself. I'm using both mods too, and saw the warning on convient horse's page regarding AFT horse mechanics.

Looked around and saw no AFT horse option to disable, but my only issue so far has been that Lydia has turned into a bit of a nudist after enabling AFT's outfit option. It seems when she mounts up maybe 1/4 of the time she strips naked. My other followers do not do this and have identical settings and equipment. One is a hired vanilla companion, and a third is a Better Vampires created vampire.

They seem to be fine. I never found anything in AFT related to horses to disable (or optionally enable).

I've no idea why Lydia went nudist on me, but I suspect it's something silly I've missed considering my other vanilla follower is working just fine.

That's the problem.
The way Convenient Horses manages the follower mounted combat conflicts with how AFT manages outfits. This can result in followers stipping down after combat.
