Skyrim Crashing On Save, Fast Travel, and loading screen.
Recently I moved over to a new PC, which is very beefy in terms of specifications. GTX 1080, i7 7700k, dual SSDS, you get the idea. I downloaded SE and went to installing all of the mods I had from before, as well as a few new ones. I got into the game and did a few short things, but immediately the game began crashing to desktop. Going to another area, saving of any form, fast traveling - all crashes to desktop. I've enabled and disabled all my mods and tried it without mods (corrupt save file, won't load with out mods.) I've reordered my load order many, many times with LOOT, I've reinstalled the game and installed all the mods again. I've used Skyrim/Fallrim Resaver to clean my saves from orphaned scripts and unattached instances. Still crashing. Also tried loading old saves from before this issue. Either same issue or simply will not load. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Game works just fine on new save with all mods installed.

My game/mods are installed my D: drive.

Can you start new game and tell if game works that way?

Cause you do realise that if you've installed all those big mods like "Falskaar" and "Beyond: Bruma" you can't uninstall them and hope to use old saves- it even says in the description that those mods interfere to heavily with game scripts

I haven't used big mods like that, no. Biggest mod I have is probably Open Cities.

Also, just tried new game. Everything worked just fine, could save and fast travel and all that.
But, for some odd reason, a bunch of mods aren't being loaded or even installed. LeanWolfs Better Shaped weapons, and some retexture mods for argonians and khajiit i was using. They show up as a activated on NMM but they arent in the load order.

are you installing from steam or nexus?

All my mods are from nexus, the game is off of steam.

The two most likely problems are;
1. a wrong load order. Run Loot and then post the load order loot gives you. Loot does not always give you the proper load order for you mods. This is why I am asking you to post your load order.
2. Incomplete or corrupted save files. Do NOT rely on autosaves or quicksaves. Instead use the manual save system in the options menu. Try to a manual save before changing cells or fast-travel.

And like someone said above, test out your problem on a new game.

check the install directory that the nexus manager puts the files into and have your nexus list open and do a quick check that they are all there. If it looks fine i would say check that your load order is up to date.

I used LOOT and tes:v edit, if you're already using nexus i'd imagine you've done at least some of this but let us know what the status is on all that.

Also browse the nexus forums real quick for "installed mods not loading" or something of the sort.

the second part is where tes:v edit always seemed to prevent that since id fix all red text errors in that and LOOT before loading my character creation saves. Although I mostly have experience with vanilla skyrim modding it seems to have the same issues as SE but just in different places, with different mods, etc. etc.

Which can cause crashes and instability with other mods since the game wasn't designed for it. From the other comments it seems like a folder setting issue in NMM. Check those for virtual install, etc. and make sure everything is good and the files are there. You may just have to start a new game if something got borked.

Okay, will post load order. I have tried saving before anything, still has issues.

I have tried it without Open Cities too, still same issue.

I have tried it without Open Cities to, still same issue.

Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data and check if there are (folders don't matter at this point) any other files that are named differently than "Skyrim - Meshes/ Textures 1,2,3..." so you can tell if NMM installed mods to the correct place

For mod to work you need both .esp file in that place as well as actual mod files (those can be placed there either as a new folder or somewhere in other subfolders in that Data folder)

Not sure what you mean, but I checked my skyrim data folder. Skyrim/Data/Meshes/Weapons, checked the folders that all had names of weapons and they were empty. There was no meshes/textures.

Checked virtual install folder in NMM folder, everything was there. Same with mods folder. However esps just arent installing or showing up in my skyrim folder. The mods are just not installing.

Then Nexus Mod Manager isn't set to the proper Skyrim SE folder. The .esps should be in there in the Data folder.
