I just found this out randomly after sleeping in a coffin after saving the Moth priest. Ended up catching it.

I thought this was true in Oblivion by sleeping on those slabs too (the ones you find in vampire dungeons), but it just turned out I forgot to check my stats and cure myself before sleeping.

Are you sure this isn't what happened?

I'm pretty sure I didn't have anything before hand. I know no notification popped up. Could have been
