First SE "Fish Tank"

If you've ever been in a pet store that has a large fish tank full of different varieties of fish, then imagine seeing 2 dozen+ Dragons in the skies of Skyrim, centered on your location.

My brother stumbled across this phenomenon a couple of years ago by accident, while using Dragon Combat Overhaul and Deadly Dragons together, since they both have a feature named "Assault", where you can select how many dragons will randomly attack you, as well as how often.
DCO also had a feature where a dragon would summon reinforcements when its health got to a certain level.

Combine these two mods, and you have a chance of Murmlnir (first dragon at Whiterun Tower), to summon 3 friends.

And they call 3 friends.

And they call 3 friends.

And so on, and so on.

However, Deadly Dragons required SkyUI, which of course required SKSE (I think DD may have required SKSE as well, can't recall). DCO did not, but it did help with the MCM menu.

When SkyrimSE came out, I eagerly awaited SKSE64 to be stable enough to generate a fish tank using LE's Deadly Dragons and DCO (since 0fLokii seems to have checked out of SE modding).

In LE, fish tanks became highly unstable, as you can well imagine when 20+ dragons are flying about. Add Bellyache's New Dragons on top of that, and you have absolute chaos that would kick the crap out of an i7-4770K and a pair of GTX 760 running in SLI (at the time). Not top o' the line cards by any means, but both together did a better job than just one.

I'm pleased to report that tonight, I had my first-ever 64-bit fish tank, with DCO, DD, and Bellyache's for SSE.

Under LE, the most I counted at one time was abotu 25, and then the game just disintegrates because it's too much, even with a Titan X (Pascal). Things bog down to the point where hits are not registered, and the 1-hit-killer I made just to keep things under control failed. All I could do was watch the game lock up, then Sign Out.

The most I had in a stable fish tank - where I was able to kill them all and not crash the game, was 22.

Tonight, at Whiterun Watchtower, including Murmilnir, I collected 39 Dragon Souls and lived to tell the tale.

However, one bug still remains, and that is where Legendary Dragons cease to take hits (they're usually the first to bug out this way). Usually it can be fixed by saving, loading the save, and continuing, but under LE there were many times i had to Disable one or two, even after repeated Resurrections and Kills via console.

Luckily, ducking into a nearby dwelling (I have a Blades Lodge near the tower), saving, then reloading, then going back out fixed a lot of them.

I'm excited for the progress on SKSE, and would love to see Fire and Ice Overhaul updated for SE (the LE version works, but it's highly unstable - I had to disable it because it blinks to desktop as soon as the fire starts getting good).

I don't know how much RAM or VRAM was being used during tonight's fish tank, but I'm sure my FPS dropped to about 20 a few times, especially with 3 Aspects of Alduin and 3 Storm Dragons, 5 Bone Dragons spawning Draugr Deathlords, and 3 Mechadons spawning Steam Centurions, not to mention the Sun Dragons that spawn spheres that hunt you down, and the meteor showers.

Or you could just use the console to spawn 25 dragons...

Not the same, as Bellyache's throws different ones in each trio, with different special attacks. Plus, it's random. Sometimes you do, sometimes you don't. Sometimes you get them while you're locked in a Courier dialog, sometimes they swoop in and snatch the Assassin lurking in the bushes, or the Thief, or the random idiot who's charging you for no valid reason other than to die.

Sometimes they snatch the Noble on the horse - right off his horse. Sometimes they snatch the couple making their way to Solitude for the wedding. Sometimes they snatch the guy with the cow. Sometimes they snatch the wandering couple who lost everything in a dragon attack, or the Vampires posing as Vigilants, or the random Vampire Nightlords, or the Bandits dressed as Imperial Soldiers, or the Gargoyles, or the Death Hounds, or the Sabre Cat sneaking up on you. There's always more to it than just the dragon fight.

Just when you think you're about to win, the last dragon summons 3 more, and two of them call for backup, and it just goes on. Longest one I had in LE lasted an hour, and it was just effing epic. I collected so much loot I had to find someplace to unload during battle, and my Carry Weight was over 10K. I probably dumped 40 Dragon Bones and Scales, and still came away with more than I'd ever use for 15 followers decked out in full Dragon gear.

is this game slowly becoming worth starting again?

seriously dco, where? any good dodge mods and does mortal enemies work?
basicly, is it ready to play, or is this just that its slowly possible to be worth installing in a few months

Origial DCO works fine. Been using it since SSE came out, you just had to control the settings via console. The MCM works now.
