Would you say there's anything better than the Arch Mage Robes?
I have the Arch Mage robes and my character is fully a mage, would I find another type of body clothing that would be better than it?

Only enchanted robes with lvl 100 enchatment. But if you mostly use 1 specific magic school then - master robes of specific mage school

@Justice so when I get enchanting to 100 should I enchant any type of light armor to my choosings of mage skills?

There is perk that allows better enchatment if you use it on robes. Not sure how it works, but I can't seem to surpass 50% magic recovery while many adept robes of magic school have 75% and all up to 150% on master robes. Not the most essential as spell reduction cost, but still

Yes, you can pretty much enchant at any type of armour or clothes. The double enchatment perk at lvl 100 is what makes it so good

Id grab the mod that lets you put any enchantment on any related item, makes it MUCH nicer IMO. Think its called free enchantments

mods... cheating bastards... (I don't care if it's singleplayer game, it's still cheating)

yeah i use something like that, it helps a great deal in making user made gear actually useful. changes that could easily be made by bethesda but w/e they had 6 years to decide if they should or not xP.

If you use all of the schools of magic at once, the Archmage's robes are pretty hard to beat.

I'd only switch away if I was using a single school of magic. In that case, I'd enchant a body piece to have cost reduction, and cost reduction + magicka regeneration. Both for the same school of magic.

Do that and use 2 more cost reduction enchantments, and you can get 100% cost reduction. Or less, if you exploit brewing enchanting potions and enchanting alchemy armor.
