Is it impossible to reach High Hrothgar? (survival mode)

Currently equipped with full leather armor, wanted to get some decent shouts to help me out so i decided to head up to High Hrothgar after traveling the land for a while and i can't even get half way up because my character is freezing and my maximum health falls so much i just get one-hit by everything.

Toss on frost resist it helps alot a nord vampire can go anywhere with just the default armor due to 100% frost imunity well close though.

Yeah, i somehow completely forgot about frost resistance potions, just didn't know they worked for weather, will try those and get a set of fur armor. Can we upgrade it? Never really used it so i have no idea.

I think I heard that torches and the flame cloak spell help.
Silly that the greybeards can hang around up there with thin robes, though.

Nope, torches do absolutely nothing, well, maybe they slow it down ever so slightly, but really nothing significant, i know because i had a torch in one hand the whole time.

I walked up there as nord vampire in the default vamp armor no less but had to sleep and eat and warm up after geting there.

It adds 50 points to your warmth value, according to the item, not that points mean anything without an indicator of what they mean.

i bet someone would make a mod that show the numbers on the screen instead of icon thing on top of screen so you would go should I keep going or find cover fast.

I personally use Torches, they are a great way for keeping warmth. I also want to add that outside fires do provide warmth for you, say that bandit camp that has that bomb fire? great source to warm up and rest up if you need to rest up too.

Hmmm, guess the mountain is too cold for torches then as they barely made any difference in how quickly i was freezing.

Don't forget to stock on hot soups. Those fire salts became one of my top priority items. Luckily soup stays hot forever, which is mildly immersion breaking for me. Last Seed (from Chesko) mod should have better mechanic regarding food spoilage and such, can't wait to see further development.

I guess they do not stay hot all time. It's more like these army soups, they are warmed up by a chemical reaction just before consuming. Yummy!

PS: Remember not to eat the chemicals next time, Argonite...

Checked out a few other armors ingame and apparently only the fur armor has a huge warmth rating. I'm thinking they should have added another better armor with a huge warmth rating as i now have to lug around a full set of fur armor just to stay warm in certain places.
