Invisible when crouching?
It's been a long time since my last game and in it I recall becoming invisible when I'd crouch in dark places. I thought it was the result of finishing the nightingale quest line but that gives a power for 180 seconds what I recall having turned me invisible anytime I crouched and not just the one second invisibility from the perk.

Any idea what it is? My game at the time was un-modded.

That's how the nightingale power works.

Right but I remember this happening without activating a power. Just crouching in shadows made me invisible.

Like I said though I didn't have any mods at the time.... Maybe I'm crazy

100 sneak skill perk maybe?
Smol Oct 28, 2017 @ 6:19pm
The perk describes it as being only 1 second of invisibility so I don't think so. I remember being invisible anytime I wasn't in combat.

If it's not the Stealth perk (Shadow Warrior, "Crouching stops combat for a moment and forces distant opponents to search for a target."), and it's not the Nightingale power (Shadowcloak of Nocturnal, "For 120 seconds you automatically become invisible while sneaking."), then you might be thinking of the effect from the Ebony Mail - it doesn't make you invisible (quite the opposite), but the smoke it gives off might've confused you into thinking it did.

That may be it, though isn't that armor gained from killing the ebony warrior when you reach level 80? I don't think I ever reached that high a level (though I do recall making a full set of light ebony armor, or maybe it was light dragon armor)

Nah, you get it from Boethiah's quest. The stuff you get from the Ebony Warrior isn't "special", though it does have some very powerful enchantments on it.

actually i have in game worn plate boots. Looks like ancient shrouded armor but with his own enchantment that makes you permanent invisible while crouching

I know this thread is old and I was thinking the same thing as you are, but I came to the conclusion of it may not be Skyrim in which when you crouch you become invisible, rather, it is actually Fallout: New Vegas, If I recall correctly. :cozybethesda:
