Literally Stuck on a Horse? (O_O)"

Hey, so it seems I ran into kind of an annoying glitch and sadly lost hours of progress because of it since I could not find a way around it... So I accidentally stole a horse from the Whiterun stables, I was just looking at it because I was bored, but then I accidentally pressed "E" instead of "W" and it mounted me on the horse, like how it would if you stole it, but I treid getting off and could not, I will admit I don't use horses often in that game since I prefer going on foot or fast travel, but I did forget which button unmounts you (-w-)" I tried pressing "shift" "ctrl" "alt" and even a few other buttons, I could of sworn it was the "alt" or "ctrl" button that un mounted you, I also tried pointing my view at the horse and pressing "E" agian, but nothing seemed to work, even tried the "Dismount Actor" command just as a troubleshooting step, it did not work of course. So I just quit the game without saving progress, because I could not seem to find another way and I am not too happy about it of course.

So I came with the hopes that someone could give me a way around this should it ever possible happen again. Thanks and hopefully I get some help.

I haven't played it for a few weeks, but I could swear you have to hold E down for a second or two, rather than just press it.

Okay thanks, I don't think that will actually work, but I will try it if I ever run into the problem again, hopefully I don't and if I do let's hope at least this time I saved before mounting the horse XD

yes! try it out for me, I uninstalled Skyrim, sadly.. I might re install it - the original one, not this one. Either pay bounties for doing naughty things, even by mistake so that you don't get weird people after you later.. or reload a saaaaave! haha.

Open console command , click on horse and when horse ID shows up - type: kill

No thanks I rather not kill the horse (^_^)" Besides the bounty would be kind of steep if the game thought I stole the horse and ALSO then killed it. But I already quit the game and so next time I am on it will have me back in the spot I last saved in, even if it was a pretty far back spot. I m just looking for solutions incase if I ever do this again by some chance.

Were you still inside the barn? While the game may let you mount while inside it doesn't always let you dismount. Are you able to ride out of the barn? If not, try turning the horse while on it and see if you can get off. The "E" key is for both getting on and off the horse.

Yeah I was but then I suspected what you just mentioned was the issue and moved out of the stables and onto the rock pavment of the road, still would not let me off once I was all the way out.

It must have been a trap by the Stable Master. He put Super Glue on the saddle!

I use a horse all the time and E gets me right off, as long as I'm not too close to a boulder or a wall, etc.

I doubt it since I don't think glue existed in this time, but that is a funny thought XD

Okay officially I had the exact same problem and all you need to do is hold down E for a little bit on your keyboard and let go of E and as soon as you let go of E you dismount. Problem fixed!

You haven't "officially" had the same exact problem .... you've just had the same problem .... that's not big or breaking news.

I experienced the glitch where I'm riding the horse and then suddenly it starts flying in the air super fast. If I try to dismount, I fall and die; if I try to slow down and dismount, same thing. Luckily I found out how to "fix" this bug through the Skyrim subreddit.

Thats the key. Need room to dismount or it may not let you. It's picky sometimes and you have to look around for a spot.
