Serana gone missing

hello so the last thing i can remember about serana is that i last saw her after parting ways after talking to her about curing vampirism, that was several in-game days ago... when i type ''help serana'' in console it says (curing self quest) what does this mean?

you need to wait a few days then go back to the castle, she will be roaming around, cured. it's kinda sad that the only companion that grabs your interest like Serana was flagged as unmarriable.

She is still curing herself. It can take a while, or even forever if you dont have the unofficial patch.

i cant remember saying that i wanted her to get cured or anything, but now i get messages on my screen each morning that my bloodlust is getting stronger but yet i cant start the vampirism cure quest... do i have to transform into a vampire first or?

If you have the Sanguinare Vampiris disease, but don't have any vampire abilities, then you're still in the process of turning and don't need the cure quest. Any regular Cure Disease effect will fix you - you can drink a potion, visit a shrine, or eat a hawk feather.

If you do have the vampire skill-set but the cure quest isn't available, then you have a special bugged form of vampirism that comes from being tagged by Serana's attacks. To fix that, you typically have to go out and get Sanguinare Vampiris from a regular vampire and let yourself turn completely - though just installing USLEEP might sort it out on the spot.

Typing "help whatever" into console won't tell you what that something is doing. The "(curing self quest)" lines tells you that such a quest exists, not that it's actually active. That said, if she told you that's what she's doing, then yes, it does take some time and she's probably still doing it.

Never understood why Serana was so popular... I found her a bit depressing as a follower, dumped her as soon as the whole Dawnguard questline was finished. :)

i appreaciate all of the replies, i found serena after waiting at the castle for a couple of days.
if i do find a fix for the vampirism thing or if it works itself out i will let you guys know ;)

Dude... it is a simple fact that Serana had way more work put into her, character development, and backstory. It may be said that the whole DLC expansion was dedicated to her story and her character, compared to any other character that has only a few lines.
A 5 year old should understand why...

And I got to mention. I really never understood why people use mods that turn characters into plastic Barbie dolls. Looks like a prelude to a horror film.

I just found personality her rather dour, tbh. Give me Cicero any day. lol

right now i have Inigo, dawnguard dog and serena. i want to change serena for the huntress in the companions but the questline only says. ask companion leaders for work, but that doesnt work xD dont know if i have any quest atm from them
