Books Disappearing When Reloading??
Could someone help me? I feel like I'm going crazy. I've had two incidents recently where either I died and reloaded my save file or reloaded a previous save (took a Dwarven lift and spawned outside, my follower was stuck) only to have a spellbook or journal that should still be there completely disappear. With both save points I had yet to pick up the books, but upon reloading they were gone as if I had grabbed them, yet neither were in my inventory. Any idea what's going on?

(Note: I do not have any mods installed, just the base game)

RULE 1....
NEVER reload a game because your "companion" is stuck, lost, or masterbating..... game mechanics will force them to catch up to you.
2. location of items are completely random in alot of cases, if it's not where you last saw it this is more then likely the case, that with the "reload" the location of said object has been changed. if this is a Static location spawn of said items, then leave the area wait 24hrs, then re-enter, this resetss the cell and the items should reappear.

restart the game completely, as ine xit to desktop , then start it again. skyrim and fallout 4 (oldrim included) have this problem the most with built up script lags and memory not being reset sometimes when you reload saves amillion times without at least going back to the main menu so the active memory is cleared. quicksaves are the worst to do this with. If you've ever tried to pickpocket somebody and had to reload over 20 or some odd big number of times and they suddenly became aggro beofre you even did anything every time you loaded the quicksaves, the memory clear thing was probably the cause of it. Backing out to main menu, or preferably desktop then relaunching the game should fix it. This could also keep a container marked as looted even after loading a save I think, which might be what your problem was. If the container was randomly generated loot, which common containers are in these games, then you're sool.

Ah ok. I'll have to keep that in mind if it happens again. Thank you!

(also, another reason I reloaded when my follower was stuck was because I came up that tower from Blackreach. I have zero intention of going back, but if for some god-forsaken reason I need to go back I have a shorter route inside)
