I have 2 versions of skyrim
So I have the special edition and the normal version with all the dlc, what is the best thing to do? Mod the normal version with the dlc and play the special version without mods?

Skyrim SE also has all of the dlc and can also be modded. You can find mods for SSE at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus (recommended) and bethesda.net.
The original skyrim has skse, where as SSE doesn't, only one person is working on SKSE for SSE. ANd that's alot of coding to do for one person, especially since it'll be 64bit.

But the mods from steam are only for the normal version, so easiest thing is to mod that version right? and it doesn't really matter wich one you play foor campaign I see?

SKSE changes the game in huge ways. SSE runs smoother, but if using a good computer with mods on oldrim, I'd stick to oldrim. I only got SKSE because I dont have a lot of DLC yet, and I'm really missing the custom classes, spells, and animations already.

the ONLY difference between oldrim and SE is the appearance, and an introduction to Cicero before the dark brother hood quest line absolutely nothing that will be missed if you pass on SE. stay with old mod to your hearts content with the FREE mods from nexus.

The old version has 2 major advantages.

1. Working SKSE script extender mod, needed for many essential mods, that will not be converted to the "refurbished" version ... or will have only limited functionality.

2. It get's NO Creation Club update. Halleluja! No paid mods shop. or to be more precise, no microtransactions.

The last advantage is worth money, because it does not place unwanted trash mini 3rd Party DLC on your HD, regardless if you buy them or not.

I changed to Skyrim SE when it launched and never went back to oldrim, it just runs that much better, i never crash with 250+ mods, and dont really need SKSE, as most mods has alternatives that dont need SKSE. I only use nexus mods as it feels like i have more control over stuff.

If you do a lot of ALT Tabbing to get to the desktop while playing, then go with SE, otherwise, go with the original.
Save Oldrim for Enderal. Once cc ruins SE , delete it and enjoy Enderal.

Torrent DL is sooooo pathetically slow, i feel like i am on dial up :steamsad:
DL on steam would be done in a dozen mins.
