Followers either running off, or stuck running in place; and then NPCs stopped moving; pushing and shouting can't fix them

So the game's been working normally for the past few days (with the good ol' trial and error with the mods I have) - as usual I have AFT, FNIS, skeleton, CBBE, custom followers, armors, etc.

However, I've recently installed additional mods which caused the following events:

- I was grouped up with Ambriel, Sofia and Recorder.
- When fast traveling to a town, Naarifin popped up and a battle began; no worries
- When I went to a dungeon, Sofia curiously was just moving away (as if she was dismissed and was heading home, even though she was still an active follower); so I summoned her to somehow try to fix it
- Went inside the dungeon and all three followers were suddenly stuck - Record and Sofia were running in place, Ambriel was just standing; trying to bump into them did nothing (not even an animation that they got pushed)

So I loaded an earlier save, this time before heading out or even telling my followers to come with me. So yep, I'm heading out alone.

Fast-traveled to a town and... well, well ---> all the NPCs were stuck. I could talk to them, and there were dialog options, but they simply weren't moving. Bumping into them or shouting them did nothing as well.

Also, tried to ride a horse and the horse is also stuck.

The most recent mods I installed:

- Frostfall + Campfire
- Diverse Dragons + Splendor + Patch
- Deadly Combat + Ordinator Patch + Wildcat
- Void Armor
- Skybirds
- Realistic Water Two

My guess is it might have been due to Deadly Combat and/or Wildcat since they change the behavior/scripting of NPCs when it comes to combat. I'm not sure how that can be related to just being idle and not in combat while they're in town, but that's the closest correlation I can think of.

I'll try disabling it to see if things work.

Anyone else encountered a similar issue?

Another possibility would be that I need to run the FNIS tool again - but I've already done that prior to starting a game and haven't gotten a different body type at all.

If I run the tool again, and load an existing save, will that screw up everything?

The mods without a numbers before them are disabled. I already had them deactivated and uninstalled on NMM but for some reason they're still showing up as unticked boxes and even on loot (although they are disabled).

Update:

- Disabled Deadly Combat and it's fine now; NPCs are walking around again

I did notice something else that's strange. Undead won't attack me unless I make the first move. I don't think that's always been the case but I had a follower mod called [Shindara](http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/10094/?) - and the mini quest had you fighting undead in a couple of dungeons. The draugrs and spirits are just standing there or walking around, only attacking you if you attack them.

The thing is - I've had that mod for quite some time (meaning it is enabled) - but the problem never manifested until the point that I actually started with the quest and went to the custom dungeon.

The other problem is the [Ambriel mod](http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/969/?) because for some reason, Naarifn pops up and he simply replenishes health.

So as you progress through the quest, Naarifn will sometimes pop with some minions in random areas. Once he's low health, he teleports away. This time around, you get him to low/zero health and his script breaks, he does his full body stagger animation, then stands back up to full health, and resumes the fight. I had to toggle TGM, 'killed' him probably 5 times, until I just reloaded an earlier save.

Now I guess the only option is to keep at home rather than have her follow me around to prevent Naarifn from spawning randomly, or just disable the mod.

Sigh.
