Output Audio
I'm playing Skyrim in big picture mode but the audio doesn't play through my tv, instead the audio is played by my laptop speakers. I've been searching for a solution but yet to find one could anyone help me out??

(I have my laptop connected to my TV via HDMI, not steam link.)

Have you tried restarting the computer with the TV connected. Then make sure the TV is already the selected default output device before loading the game and switching modes

Yes I've tried this and, still, with my tv as the default audio output, it continues to play through my laptop speakers. I can run any game other than Skyrim and the audio streams through my tv. It's specifically when I play SSE :-/

I remember Skyrim having issues if surround mode was selected, and also if the audio output wasn't to 24 bit 44K or better, but if every other game including other steam games are working through the HDMI then it has to be something specific to Skyrim.

My only off the cuff feeling would be to try copying, then deleting your ini files (in the same folder as your save folder Documents/My Games/Skyrim SpecialEdition) Then running the launcher and setting your options again.

It will recreate your ini files with default settings all, see if the game finds the TV screen after that; if not just del the ini files again, and copy your backup ini files into the folder
