Unexplained deaths
My character is running about getting materiels to finish building Heljarken Hall, and is just about done. I usually put Njada Stonearm from the Companions as Steward there. So I run back to Whiterun, buy some corundum and head over to Jorrvaskr. Everybody is outside, mid-afternoon sparring, shooting, sitting around, but no Njada. I go inside, nobody at all around the fire eating or drinking. I go downstairs to the bunk room, and there is Njada, dead and naked, lying next to a bed. I would post a pic, but there are naughty bits showing.

My character became Harbinger weeks before, and everyone was alive after that. I cannot figure out how she could have died.

On a previous playthrough, I had made Ingjard from the Dawnguard Steward of Lakeview Manor, then came home after an adventure to find her dead and naked next to the dining table. No explanation there either.

Anybody else have these kind of mysterious deaths in their game?

Mods altering followers? Sounds like some kind of mod conflict.

Ive got several follower mods. Very common ones though. Could be related.

I had two Windhelm argonians, Shahvee and Scouts-Many-Marshes) disappear one day with no explaination. I found them underneath the market, dead.
They were clothed, so it's not quite your issue, but it was certainly a surprise.

Perhaps something that affects stewards?

That is similar.

Haven't seen that before. But that just gives me another reason to set any potential future follows to essential (I've done that in my game using xEdit).
I've had followers die because they run into difficulties while I'm away(usually a giant or wolves spawning where they are), you have to remember characters follow scripts, which can lead them to their deaths. It's supposed to be a game feature, but it can be annoying.

well that doesn't explain why nadja is back in the Jorrvaskr living quarters naked. Gopher had it with Thelma once I believe.

Exactly. I could understand finding her dead out in wild somewhere.

normally it's caused by entering a cell, a npc spawns in the air and dies from fall damage, never heard from interior deaths though. i have no explanation why the body is in Jorrvaskr.
but i remembered the same happen with Ria as a steward in Oldrim.

there are random encounters with the companions in the wild, where they hunt sabrecats, mammoths or bears and these random encounters still happen when they are steward.
and the problem is they can spawn without you noticing. https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Random_Encounters#Hostile_Encounters

you can install this mod to prevent it: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/10297/?

Thanks for the mod tip. Ive installed it, though it is too late for poor Njada. (Unless I reload an older save. Hmm, maybe...).

Going forward, you could pretend she was assassinated to get at you.
