How to manually install IA for SE?
So I uninstalled NMM due to all the issues it caused with SE. I've downloaded Immersive Armour for SE, and I have the following files, however unsure at which directory to place them all:

Hothtrooper44_armor_ecksstra.bsa
Hothtrooper44_armor_ecksstra.esp
Hothtrooper44_armorcompilation.bsa
Hothtrooper44_armorcompilation.esp

These 4 should be copied into Skyrim Special Edition\Data from what I can understand, nothing strange about that, but i'm unsure about the following:

ModuleConfig.XML
UNP\Meshes\Armor\ = Multiple folders & Subfolders containing .NIF files. Where do I put these?

Also there is IA List.txt, but I assume this one isnt necessary(?).

Thanks.

Loose files go in the data folder, they're assets for if you're using UNP.
No idea about ModuleConfig, as I can't find it in my skyrim folders.

I'm not sure what UNP is, I assume i'm not using it? If not, BSAs+EPSs -> Data Folder and done?

That's for the FOMOD when installing using a manager

NMM doesn't cause issues with SE. Are you using a version from 9+ months ago?

Nope, fresh version but kept crashing on startup so cba.

Honestly, until you are a little more experienced with modding you should probably just use the Nexus mod manager to install the mods for you. Even an experienced modder would probably use a mod manager to install Immersive armors because there is really no need to install it manually.

UNP is a female body mod. It replaces the character model with a fairly different shaped one that is higher quality. The UNP folder just contains the armor meshes for the female character that are shaped to the UNP body. Just delete it if your not using the UNP mod.

After you put teh BSAs and ESPs into the data folder you will also need to activate the ESPs inorder for them to work. (Again this is easiest to do with a mod manager)

You're going to seriously screw up your game if you continue to install mods manually without really knowing how to install them properly.

There's no reason why NMM shouldn't work properly in your game. It's probably crashing Skyrim on startup because of the mods you already have in it. Which mods are you trying to use? Have you got the Unofficial Skyrim patch? Install that before anything else. Also download LOOT (available from Nexus) to sort the load order.

Did you enable the mod before starting? I think with manual you need to go to the in game mods menu to check your load order, but it might be an option on the launcher like in Oldrim.

That method of modding will get you far. You should probably look into why it's crashing and, you know, figure it out.

Yes I've enabled it and placed it accordingly to suggested load order.

Okay, this is the easiest way I know how to tell you to get the mod to work properly.

1. Download and install Nexus Mod Manager (abreviated NMM)

2. Start NMM and it will detect the compatiple installed games, click on Skyrim Special edition.

3. You should now see a bunch of mod folder catagories.

4. Open your browser and go to the Immersive Armors Nexus page, then go to the files download and click the green "download with manager" button.

5. NMM will now start to download the mod and it will appear in the catagorized folders, when it is finished downloading click on the mod and then click the green checkmark button on the left. This will simultaneously install and activate the mod.

Some other things to note:

If you ever want to remove the mod later it is as simple as clicking on the mod in NMM and hitting the cancel button in the same area the checkmark button.

Because NMM will automatically insall Immersive armors last in your load order you don't really need LOOT to sort your load order so long as you are just using Immersive armors.

It will also be worthwhile to click on the drop down arrow by the tools icon and click on "reset archive invalidation" don't remember if it's 100% nesessary or not for somthing like Immersive armors but I generally click it every time I install a mod.
