[Solved] Bugged Quest - Quest Items is missing
Hey there,

I really did hope the problem with buggy quest markers would be gone with Skyrim SE.

But now I faced one again. I have to get the schematics for the Dwemer Ice Bolt from Mzinchaleft. (Quest is saying Mzinchaleft). When I look onto the worldmap, Questmarker ist pointing close to Mzinchaleft, but not directly. If I fast travel there and go to the entrance of Mzinchaleft, no Quest marker is pointing at the door.

I still went in, cleared thed dungeon until I came to the chest where the schematic has to be found (asked google for this) but the schematics are not there and I can't finish the quest.

I tried to add the missing Quest object, but this doesn't count towards the quest progress.

Anyone any Idea what I can do? And why this extremly anyoing bug still persists?

My big dream is to complete Skyrim ONE TIME with close to 100%. I tried this severel times by now, but always had to cancel/abort because at some point game becomes so heavy buggy and broken that further progress is impossible.

I really hate this :-(

Thanks, but I can't go back one savegame, since I'm carrying this quest allready a while with me so I don't know when this bug did happen.

Restarting the game sadly doesn't help. Thanks anyway.

Is there some console command to complete/finish a Quest?

Looks like an issue I had one time with the Forgemasters Fingers it was supposed to be in Morvunskar ... never found it though

If you don't want to go back from the beginning try instaling Unofficial bug fixing mod. Worked for me

Hey BioNicK, you are talking about the "Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch" ?

It's allready active. version 4.0.3, but maybe there a newer version out by now, I had a break on Skyrim for several months. But not sure what will happen if I just update it midgame. Won't this break my savegame?

I updated the Patch from 4.0.3 to 4.0.7, sadly this didn't solve the problem. Quest marker ist still bugged and the schematic not in the chest. Probably because I allready lootet the chest.

Is there some way to reset the chest? Maybe this will work?

Found a solution that worked for me:

Take a look at this guide: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/564232-how-to-fix-a-bugged-quest/

------

To whomever it may concern,

This post will instruct players on how to fix a quest that they are having trouble with because of a bug or other issue that is preventing them from finishing the quest.

1. Go to http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Quests and find the category that your quest would be under. Quests are categorized based on locations, factions, etc.

2. Find your quest and select it. This should take you to the quest's page.

3. Take note of the quest's ID number. You will need this later.

4. Select from the Table of Contents the link for Quest Stages.

5. Find the stage with a description that matches the one in your game. That is the stage that you are currently on and are supposedly having trouble with. To fix the issue in your game, look at the Stage ID number next to the stage AFTER the one you are on (if the next stage has a blank description, skip to the next stage after it). Take note of this ID number.

6. Load your game.

7. Open the game's console command window and enter SetStage (Quest ID Number) (Stage ID Number) using the ID numbers you took down from the website.

8. This should complete the stage you are currently on and move you on to the next stage in the quest.

------

So I did set the stage to the point where I have to return in the quest. I added the missing quest object to my inventory, too, but since I still have it in my inventory I think you don't need it to complete the quest.
