How am I supposed to kill frost troll?
I'm lvl4 and I have objective to go to high hrotgar but frost troll is on the way..
He regenerates faster than me doing damage.
Any tips?

Companions don't die unless you, yourself do the finishing blow. Otherwise, they will just limp around and complain til their health regenerates enough. You could in theory win every battle with a companion if you just sat back and watched them duel but it doesn't really work practically because the enemy will likely have a heal potion or spell and you will get aggro the moment your companion is limping.

They both died. It is a known mechanic with those two in particular and in any case,... they both died.

oh, interesting. They never died for me unless I specifically shot an arrow through their knee. Oh well, resurrect 1 it is for OP then xD

First time I saw a frost troll at High Hrothgar (under level 10), I simply sniped him from afar. The sneak damage + chances I had to shoot it (based on our distance) were enough to do more damages than its regeneration and kill it before it reach me.

This was on expert difficulty thou, dont know bout legendary.

Well, if u have a bow and enough arrow, u can basically kill any melee enemy no matter what difficulty if you put enough distance between each other. Stealth + bow n arrow is quite OP in vanilla skyrim.

Do the early, Dark Brotherhood quests to get their armour. You'll need the boots for sound muffling. Easy to do at very low levels.

Then create loads of Invisibility potions and hot key them. Sneak as close as possible to the Troll. Then keep consuming potions until you get past Frosty. 60-90 seconds of invisibility should be enough - about a dozen potions at low, Alchemy skill levels.

Simply making enough potions will probably raise your level by 4-5. Accumulating enough ingredients (Nirnroot and Chaurus Eggs) will take time too. Nirnroot can be accumulated in the wild without risk. The Dunmer merchant in Windhelm's Gray Quarter typically has four, Chaurus Eggs for sale at each inventory reset.

I'd be inclined to wait a few levels. There's no need to rush this quest. Building your character in order to carry out quests is part of the fun.

Fire magic/damage will make short work of Trolls, frost or otherwise, since it greatly slows down their regeneration and also I'm sure they have a weakness to fire. Hope this helped.

3. Type "kill"

What a wimp. What's the use of playing a game if you insist on removing all the challenge?

Yes.

Don't kill it. Just run by it. You don't have to and aren't expected to be able to beat anything at any particular point.

That's for him to decide.

If you have a fire spell, use it. Then shoot arrows, things take more damage when on fire and it also adds a fire damage DoT. When the fire goes out, rinse and repeat.

Personally, I leave visiting High Hrothgar until later anyway, there are other things you can do to get more levels and more DPS that will make a Frost Troll seem like childsplay.

You may also hire Marcurio at the Bee and Barb in Riften, for a measly 500 gold: his fire spell is especially effective against frost trolls. My standard tactic is pincushioning it from as far away as possible with a bow, while Marcurio bombs it with Firebolts. Also, I usually am around level 10 by the time I reach High Hrothgar, and I have a decent bow + arrows, or the Bound Bow.

That's what I did: put the default Flames power in my off-hand, juice him a bit to set him on fire, cut him up with my dagger, rinse and repeat.

As others have said, if he's at a distance shoot some arrows (you can add potions to your bow to to damage stamina, health, whatever, which helps). Also take a follower if you can. If this doesn't work come back when you're higher level, you don't have to do some of those "kill something" side quests immediately. I remember when I got the quest to kill the Vampire Vighar early in the game. He was REALLY hard to beat so I came back several levels later.

PS - just re-read your post, you're going to High Hoghrar. You can do if a detour of that troll if you're careful. Maybe get an invisibility potion.

go as close to the mountain edge as you can and sneak past. You can't outrun it, and it is tough to kill at low level.
