Thieves Guild Heimskr's house bug
So, I gotta do this shill job for the Thieves Guild. I have to plant a stolen item in Heimskr's House in Whiterun :whiterun:, but it has unfortunately been destroyed under the rebel siege of Whiterun. Google says that if you follow him around, he will never stop somewhere to sleep, and he only stops at the inn to eat.

I've tried to reverse pickpocket the item, but that didn't work, I just got the "Quest Items can not be removed from your inventory" message. What do I do? Is there any way to complete the quest without the use of console commands, or will I have to quit the job to get a new one?

You can't do it, if you can load a save from before you accepted the job, otherwise go back to Vex/Devlin and say you can't complete it. unfortunately this makes shill jobs unavailable for the future.

I always save before talking to Vex or Devlin, it allows me to dodge faulty jobs, and I can keep reloading if they try to shove a city I don't want on me.

Skyrim seems to have gotten worse when it comes to glitches and bugs in the Special Edition. I completely random fall out of the map, NPCs teleport, I can't do a bedlam job in Raven Rock for some reason.. All these problems I never had when I played the original edition on Steam OR on PS3.. And that's more than 2000 hours combined.

The bugs you are describing are fixed with the Unofficial patch. You should never get any job for Raven Rock.

But the thing is that I'm trying to get the Thieves Guild Achievement, in which you have to 'restore the Thieves Guild to it's former glory', and you can't get achievements in Special Edition if you're using mods. It's just annoying, since it doesn't really look like my level 50 character is going to meet a Legendary Dragon anytime soon (spawns at level 78+).

There is a mod that re-enables achievements on PC Skyrim SE, hope that's what you are playing, get unofficial patch, then the achievement enabler mod, and you are sorted.

Is the achievement re-enabling mod available directly from Bethesda's website (or in-game), or will I have to use the Nexus? 'Cause my computer for some reason can't use Nexus Mod Manager, and everytime I download a mod manually, the game crashes on start-up.

I believe it is on both sites, so Bethesda.net should have it too.
