Maven is a Jarl now

I visited Markarth Jarl in Solitude, he hates me and call me Stormcloak dog. I visited Riften Jarl in Windhelm and he call me Imperial scum. I didnt even take sides!!

She was running Riften even when the Stormcloaks were in power, the fact is she's an unpleasant reality that you just have to accept.

I understand your frustration.
There have been plenty of times I wanted to give that irritating woman a punch in the face.
As for those ungrateful "true sons and daughters" of Skyrim ...

Do a HARD save before you do this.

Go in there and rip them a new one for their arrogance. ... all of them.
And while you're at it, if the local towns folk happen to be hostile toward you ...
give them the same beatings. While you're at it, call Odahviing in to help.
(And to make sure you suvive this, toggle God Mode).


In otherwords,
show those pesants the true meaning of being Dragonborn and give them lessons they'll never forget. (at least for your satisfaction). Because what you will be doing is a legendary thing that will be remembered for many ages.

On this my umpteen play through, I decided to wipe out the Dark Brotherhood since Maven has them and the Thieves Guild at her call. I just wished the Devs had made it possible to eliminate her or bring her down a few notch without using mods. My next move is to get rid of the thieves Guild though it probably will not have an effect on her power as the Jarl. I have no warm fuzzy for her

Tempest Stormcaller: I did with my followers (Sarana and Meko) wipe out Maven and her group (except for the mage) and all the guards that entered to protect her and arrest me. Such a good feeling

After doing the Civil War questline once for each side, I now wait until all other questlines are completed before doing that. It changes so much of the game, that I hate to work around those changes.
Doing Season Unending is more satisfying than the Civil War because you get to tell the most powerful figures in the game how it is going to be. (may as well get used to calling me High King now, children.) :D

If so, send her to the arena to fight a few monsters. Or the Ebony Warrior.

I was mostly joking, since she does become a Jarl for you helping the empire. But as alexander_dougherty said, it is Maven who is running Riften. She annoys you because she acts arrogant. Underneath is the corruption of the authories, and that means you have to go through the process of generations efforts to create a democratic country with separation of powers, if you really want to try solving the "Maven problem". Or there will simply be another Maven even if you killed this one. And don't forget the silver-blood family running Markarth, they're pretty much the same as Black Braier family IMO. What can you do then?
