Crossbow is the best weapon
Don't even try to disagree, it is better than any melee weapon, bow, or spell.

I have a spell called godmode that i use for testing purposes (Like mod changes). It deals 5k damage. Is better than crossbow.

Best by numbers, yes. But it gets boring quickly. And it slightly loses to bow when you want to stay undetected in close proximity to enemies. Bow is silent, crossbow is not.

Zephyr is better, 'nuff said.
Fast hit speed, fast reload speed, fasted firing ranged weapon in the game.
Once you get some perks in archery, then a variety of bows are better than crossbow, especially if you sharpen the bow (yes I know it sounds daft). Then the bows do more damage and are faster.

Nope. Do your math kids. Enhanced Dwarven Crossbow has better damage per hit than any bow by fair amount. On top of that it ignores 50% of armor and does +50% more stagger (normal bows do no stagger unless you have Power Shot perk, but it applies to crossbow too). It can be enchanted and has exploding bolts at the same time. It fires first shot a lot faster: you don't need to draw it like a bow. When you press fire it fires immediately. You can run around and jump with it loaded.
As for the slower reload time it is possible to do some exploit: unequipping then re-equipping crossbow by means of hotkeys will cause it to be reloaded.

Console is meant to be used to fix bugs, using it for things like that can break your game, be very very careful with commands like that.

Not sure about the maths, but when playing in the game, the damage was slightly less than my dragonbone bow with ebony arrows, and was slower. And I could always enchant my bow to do fire damage (maybe coupled with lightning damage dual enchant) to catch up with the exploding bolts.

Ok, you can get around the slow with your cheat, but I personally found that the damage was less than awe inspiring.

What about range? I havent used xbow much, but I can nail targets at the extreme limit of vision with a bow.

you are just A: using a bad crossbow AND/OR B: bad bolts

C: Cross bows suck and take the lore away from me lol. I'll stick to my bows. They shoot faster and are a better weapon in numbers like Locklave said. Damage is not really a concern to me.

Wtf you talking about? The entire game isn't 1v1 fights, bow is a better weapon for taking down numbers. Since most enemies die in 1 hit to both weapons how is a slower firing weapon better exactly? It isn't.

It's reload time and slow walking during said reload makes it a worse weapon.

or C a really good bow, improved with smithing at 100% and the correct perks in smithing and archery (archery skill itself was about 64 I think) to get some really decent damage going.

I compared this to an Enhanced Dwarven crossbow (improved using smithing skill like the bow) with dwarven bolts, which was doing slightly less damage.

I had been using exploding dwarven bolts, but I ran out. Meanwhile I can pick up ebony arrows off any enemy archer, making it sustainable. I am calculating it overall using the ammo I can restock off enemies rather than buying or crafting, and I mostly get Dwarven Bolts off Dwemer Spheres. If I could sustain the levels of Exploding Dwarven Bolts then I would reconsider, but that just doen't happen enough to make it viable.
