I normally will have Mjoll or Senna as a spouse. Illia is a good one too. I am currently trying out Sofia, but she wears thin after a while.
Head to Brittleshin pass my friend ;) ... That's all I'll say.
Two things:
1. Do you use a mod to allow marriage with Serena? I thought about marrying her. She was the closest I got to being interested in another character, but since she was unmarriable I let it go... Not to mention I failed the dialogue check to allow her to change back into a human.
2. You know there's a perk you get from a Black Book in the Dragonborn DLC that makes it so you'll never harm any companions no matter how you attack them. Just a heads up...
No kidding. I had several people recommend I try her when I mentioned I was looking for a follower mod, but she started out mildly annoying and went to grating real quick. Reminds me of someone I know (and don't care for).
See you marry then send her home so shes out of the way making gold for you and you have to be annoyed by her less often then if she were your travelling companion
All the interesting people i can't marry. I go cry in corner now :'c
Like Bethesda might give us lot of beautiful people that i can marry (like Lydia, Brelyna, Onmund and Marcurio) but I WANT THAT ONE *point at weird characters that are unmarriagable*
Yea, I wish you could marry literally anyone in the game (anyone that was single that is... I don't expect them to initiate a complex system of dialogue and quests to get random NPCs to leave their spouse for you...). It's frustrating and slightly immersion breaking when you can't progress to that level with some NPCs.
As for me, my character is a Ranger of the wild. So he doesn't marry. Maybe when he's done all he can in Skyrim he'll settle down, but for now he's a free spirit that won't be bogged down by family.
I hear you man, on both points. When I started this SSE playthrough, initially thinking I would just do a solid vanilla playthrough, I considered Lydia because for some reason everyone loved her... One word: BOOOOOORING. To each his own I suppose though...
As for the waiting until the end of the game to get married I felt the EXACT same. It was kind of one of those "I'll do it when my character feels like it's time to hang up the 'ol dragonbone armor", but then I met Zora... And everything changed... Not to say it's a pointless endevor to wait until the end of the game to get married, just felt like sharing since I was playing the same way as you back then.
