Best way to start a new game?
Around december I had an issue where the game would freeze every time I clicked the mouse in player view (not in inventory view). I posted about it and no one seemed to have an answer or idea of how to fix it. I recently tried it again and it was still broken. So now I've uninstalled and reinstalled SSE, downloaded only mods that I KNOW are safe and plan to start playing again.

If it freezes again then I guess I have a huge problem on my hands, but i feel like the old world was corrupted and I want to start over (which sucks because I was about 35% done with it)

My question is what is the best way to start a new player? Obviously with alternate start, but I remember the beginning time being insanely slow (even moreso because I used frostfall and turned off quick travel). What things could I do to make this playthrough more fun?

I always find the vanilla start is still good sometimes for a start. Cuz it allows one to consider where to go after the cave exit..... I usually pick a place I haven't tried right after the beginning.
Don't follow the regular routine, try a run all the way to Dawnstar for example. Install Bandits in Skyrim or a mob inducing mod. Restrict yourself to only clothing (maybe your character is allergic to metals), or a certain type of metal. Use a weapon type, stick with it, and never change. I try to pick mods that are difficult and combat intensive. Maybe your a chemist. And can't use weapons at all. And can only use one school of magic. Get a mod that supports that idea. Get mods that make your character shine or make it difficult. To me, that's the fun part.
Cheers.

As for making your next playthrough more fun well.... did you try out the legendary difficulty? it makes you change how you play quite alot.
