How to truly reset/fix Kharjo?

Somehow, I've broken Kharjo, the Khajiit follower. I dont actually know how but I believe it must have something to do with resurrecting his dead body or messing with his code. The problem I'm having is that he is registered as one of my followers but he keeps running back to his caravan. On top of this, I can't dismiss him either as the next time i speak to him, I cant recruit him because he's still registered as a follower.

I've tried 'recycleactor', I've tried 'disable' then 'enable' and I've even tried killing him and nothing is working. I just want my trusty Kharjo back, can anyone help??

That is exactly why you shouldn't use the console to resurrect someone. There's nothing to be done about it, the game has marked him as dead. You've broken your game.

Either load an earlier save from before he died, or start again.
Nothing else to be done.

Have you tried opening the console then typing

set playerfollowercount to 0

just kill him and be done with him and move on to getting your next follower killed.

You could also use Amazing Follower Tweaks. From there you can either reset your Follower (not guaranteed to fix your problem) or have 2 or more Followers.

Thanks guys, well i guess its nice to know that he's unfixable.
In regards to returning to a previous save, Im already so far into the game that i couldnt possibly go back just for his sake.
Guess I should go look for another follower to fill his place.
