I read looking for a solution to my issue that is the most Common fix.
Make sure you have it in Xbox mode (no do NOT use an external program to make it look like an Xbox controller).
There is a switch on the controller itself that governs the way the PC sees the controller.
In one mode, Skyrim will not recognize it, in the other it treats it as an Xbox controller.
Go into Devices and Printers and flip the switch while the controller is on and connected to see which "mode" the controller is in. Also make sure you calibrate it at least once.
Glad you got it sorted out.
Unplugging and plugging back in does not work, because the controller remains in analog "joystick" mode until the switch is flipped.
This was in 2017 xD
But that wasn't the issue at all lol the controller just had a switch that made it more universal for use and needed to be toggled between some games to recognize it as a pc device or an x box device, and some games like skyrim didn't know it was a controller if it wasnt in x box mode.
