Are you an elf in real?
However it does allow contradictory playthroughs, were a character switches between being a Paragon of Virtue to a true Villian, and vice-versa, in a second for no reason.
It has problems, but it is a free-form RPG.
Seriously? If you side with either the Stormcloaks or the Legion, the outcome is totally different for each. How is that not affecting the game world? Or you can choose to side with no one at all and just wander about, leaving the conflict as it is. Plus you can make a choice whether to be a low-life thief, a blood thirsty assassin, or be more noble about things and be the head of a band of warriors or the arch-mage of a school of magic. Then of course you can choose to be either a werewolf or a master vampire. There's plenty of role playing choices you can make.
