Full screen difficulties on surface pro 3
Recently got a surface pro 3 (didn't wanna drop an extra 500 for the new one). Im not going to list the specs unless needed, i am aware this laptop is not entirely meant for gaming and i don't really care. However, i do need help reducing the resolution without decreasing the window size. When i run fullscreen it only runs in the computer's native resolution, which is laggy as hell. I would like to drop it down to 1280 or so but im not quite sure what else to try. I've already went into skyrimprefs and changed bFull screen to 1 and the resolution to 1280 and 720 but still it seems to have no effect. Any help would be appreciate.

ive seen videos of it running relatively smoothly on the SP3 on lower resolutions. I have a lenovo that runs it really well, but i like to take this around because its more mobile.
