What's with the objection to fast travel anyway? You can only fast travel to somewhere you have been already. So what is you all's problem with fast travel? Do you swim to Solsteim?
Morrowind was amazing because of no fast travel. Everyone who has played Morrowind can relate to not wanting to use fast travel. Also role playing is a lot better if you actually have to walk or ride a horse to your location. You can't swim to Solstheim, you'll have to take the boat (expensive, but immersive). And that's exactly why many people dislike fast travel. Immersion.
Kinda like the other dude said, fast traveling you should have to pay for, morrowind did it right, elderscrolls online did it right as well. Its not immersive to just open up the map and fast travel somewhere, its lazy, its not fun. I dont know why you attacked me for not liking fast travel.
ps Theres mods to make horses passive, and run away from danger so i dont have that prob.
personally i prefer my horse summon spell, i can summon a horse when i need it and dismiss it when i'm done with it so it stays out of the way.. granted my current character is a mage, so it makes sense.
