Best Shield?

What would you consider to be the best shield in Skyrim/Dawnguard/Dragonborn?

Auriel's Shield?
Spellbreaker?
Aetherial Shield?

If you using Immersive Armor, you'll find (or craft) some superb shields. I have now one called "Skyforge Nord Heavy Shield", a round one, which has after smiting) ...56 defense points!

I see, sorry.

But truly, try this mod (and others), you'll find superb armor (good looking but also amazing in defense) and weapons.

I played Skyrim (LE) without mods and almost finished all (main quest, almost all DLCs), reached the 82 level, etc...
...But when I first modded the game... I never turned back to Vanilla experience, you simply ...can't.

I honestly find making something like a stalhrim shield and then enchanting it the best option, i always do it the xbox 1, 360, and sometimes the pc, that is, when im not trying to mod it or fix the mods in it lol. modding is addictive, dont do it...

Aetherial shield is best, because of its crowd control capability, downside is still bugging for some.

It's also another shield (I can't recall the name), a dwarf shield, with a strange shape (looks like you holding it from the outside), that has also an anti-mage "aura". It's nice too... In this current version I'm playing now, I haven't find it yet (because I hate dwarf's cities and I'm avoiding them.
My current "Skyforge Nord Shield" (with A LOT smiting on it), is amazing (in defense and good looking).

Best way of thinking that is, always play vanilla firstly then it will give you an idea what you want to change, if anything.

weapons and armor/shields are better without it being overwhelmingly overpowered

Spellbreaker. It's a ward mixed with a shield. This comes in handy during dragon fights.
