"This key is reserved". What shortbus chimp coded the Controls
The earlier version of this game I managed to have running via the Number Keypad (I NEVER EVER USE `W,A,S,D` [like most of you dont play golf left-handed]) but whenever I try to re-map this version of the game, I just get given the middle finger a thousand times.

"This key is reserved".

Is there a fix?

Remembering good games have had FULL RE-MAPPING since even Before `Half-Life` in 1999.

I use the arrow keys in every game I play. They remapped just fine.

How lovely for you.

On my bicycle, I prefer 3rd gear.

But what has that got to do with what I asked?

Obviously!!!! I really CAN'T figure HOW people playing something, using 4 keys IN THE MIDDLE of the keyboard, instead the cursor arrows which they are completely separated from the other keys!

WASD I use- and golf left handed... not sure what all that has to do with it but if you seriously want a more helpful answer to your keys question- I'd try the main forum (at bethesda)- I'd search it first, you're not likely the first with the question and can maybe find a quick answer that way- hopefully. Good luck.:windhelm::steamflake:

3rd party overlay or hardware allows remapping but may have its own issues. ROG kbs allow remapping at a huge price, for example.

Dude, kindly excuse my frustration.... but..

1) Also, you don`t know what chimp coded the controls; but the problem doesn`t affect you.
2) I said "MOST people dont play golf left-handed"; I didn`t ask if you do. Its an example.
3) Ambidexterous people are reported to be more prone to mental illness. I`m all lefty.
4) You dont know if there is a fix, but thank you for commenting anyway.
5) I dont want to go to Bethesda, and have someone tell me to go and ask on Steam.
6) I posted here, because its how I found a fix for the earlier iteration of this game.
7) Last time I tried Bethesda, I didn`t get a response.

Gd luck to you to.

Chill- I suggested the main forum because in my experience, hunting for answers (even if only searching and not posting) has been the most helpful route in my experience, your question on keys is likely already mentioned since others will feel the same and have likely already posed the question. I find the Steam forums less helpful overall. Do it or don't, but no need for rudeness.

Well, I bought a $150 Logicool 710+ before getting this game; and I dislike the idea of having an individual partially functioning remapping program on my PC, as I just want to run games which fkn fully re-map.... as they all should be now. Jeepers, I have Indie games by single developers which have full re-mapping. How is it they can do it, but the punks at Bethesda are incapable of it?

Not tryin to be rude, but I am sick to death of pre-ordering games and finding out the Code vermin discriminate against those of us who need full re-mapping; when they keep that a damn secret in the marketing.
Metal Gear Solid V (Console coded) type games in particular. :steamfacepalm:

Before buying any game in future, I am now posting and asking on the forum in Beta if the games are fully re-mappable.
All Devs in future can fcuk themselves if they think they will get paid from me for not doing their job properly. :steamsalty:

For me, its like going to a shoe shop, and them only seling shoes made for two right feet.

Thaks for your consideration....
as for one of your points about Steam not being helpful sometimes (not always).... thats true
I can tell from one of the mentally ill posters above, who needed a `Newon`s 3rd Law` response.

I am unsure if I understood your problem correctly. If I did, then there shouldn't be any technical reason why this wold not work with Skyrim SE. I did not catch, if you have been using this or not.

Interface Hard Coded Key Tweaks by crazy-g

Do a manual download and install. Mod Manager would toss it in Skyrim folder. There is no ESP file, so I can't see any risk of trying it out, if you have not already done so.

Many thanks for the link...
gotta do an account (again) and log in.. I`ve only used Nexuss maybe a couple of hours in a couple of years....

I did get half of the commands to work by deleting the Keyboard ini file from this Enhanced version of the game, by copying/pasting installing the earlier version remapped keyboard ini file into this version, ...but only half of the mappings worked, and the mapping ini file is some strange looking text I have never seen, so I couldn`t adapt it.

Many thanks..
