I have no audio once the game starts, I have audio through the loading screens. It started after the last steam update

Also having audio issues. Mine dies after about 5-10 minutes into the game though. Haven't found a way to fix it... Frustrating.

I'm on this problem too. If any of you discover what is it, please tell me.

Did anyone ever find a solution to this problem? I've just bought the game and there is zero audio. I got the audio to work for a few minutes when I enabled volume equalization in the windows sound menu - found that solution online - but then the audio died and won't come back.

Wowie I thought it was just me or rather Windows 10; did bethesda release another amazing update/downgrade? Sounds cuts off a few seconds into main title screen

A couple of things to check:

When I have audible sound at the title screen, but not once the game starts, the culprit for me is usually my in-game audio settings > master volume.

When I have no, or very low, sound all the time, I usually find that Windows has forced another update on me, undoing my volume and equalization settings.

Right-click on your volume icon in the tray. Open sounds and go to the play back tab. Double click on the speakers/headphones you use, and click on enhancements. Make sure Loudness Equalization is on.

If that still doesn't bring it back, right click on the volume icon again. This time, choose Open Volume Mixer. You should see separate sliders for your device, notifications, steam (if you have it open) and maybe others, depending on your setup. Leave it open and start the game. While in-game, use alt-tab to switch back to your volume mixer. There should now be a separate volume slider for Skyrim. For some reason, when Windows updates me, I have what seems like a 50/50 chance of that being all the way down. Not every time, but sometimes. Slide that back up to being equal with your normal device volume, and alt tab back into the game.

If it's not one of those two things, I'm out of ideas.

It's interesting bc Oblivion works just fine for me, but Skyrim and New Vegas are totally borked and don't even open after their launchers, and of course Special Edition's sound cuts off after the logo, so yaaayyy bethesda

I return back with interesting developments:
What I did was place the missing files (that I downloaded I know scary) into the Windows\system32 folder and the Windows\SysWOW64 folder, and THEN I downloaded DirectX Web Installer from here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

Because if you go to C:\Windows\system32 and search in the search bar for those missing files, they're probably not there. It's DirectX's WebInstaller's job to replace these files and make sure the series is there, so downloading it should do the job. However, if it doesn't, then do what I did and directly download the specific missing files from online and place them into both the system32 folder and the sysWOW64 folder and then using the Web Installer. For some reason that worked for me.
