Unkillble followers?

So Lidya got killed
The lady at the inn in Whiterun, the one with the 2h sword, also got killed
Where can i find a follower that cant die?

For the most part, while they are following you, followers can only be killed by you (or very occasionally if they are hit with a damage over time effect while 'on one knee' (in bleedout). So, first step, fight a little more carefully. (And, because they can die after being dismissed, make sure you escort them home before dismissing them.)

As far as unkillable followers, there are a few: Mjoll, Derkeethus, Serana (Dawnguard), Frea (Dragonborn), and Cicero plus the Dark Brotherhood Initiates. Otherwise, you can use mods to make your followers essential.

There are also mods on nexus that add great non killable followers to the game like Vilja of skyrim and Inigo . Two great mods for which I ues. Either that or I run Solo and leave the wife and kiddies at home.

Seconding this combination. Vilja isn't essential by default, I think, but you can easily change that with dialogue (I think it's in travelling together > off topic [configuration and settings]). They also have fun interactions with some of the vanilla followers (Lydia, Marcurio, Erik, Meeko...)

Well yes that is true there in regards to Vilja. forgot about that there. As for Inigo don't remember if he can be made essentia or not. only reason for which I remember about Vilja is due to the fact that I ran with here in Oldrim for a long time before adding Inigo. And I personally just love Vilja's voice acting she did a great job.

Oh, Inigo is essential by default (I don't *think* he can be made non-essential, but if he can it's probably a feature of the optional MCM in Oldrim and not available in SSE, though I could be wrong about that), and tbh I've never had Vilja die on me, even when I've forgotten to set her essential, probably because both of them have cdcooley's wizardry under the bonnet/hood, and thus tend not to leap in front of my weapons/spells nearly as much as vanilla followers :)

Vilja gets a bad rep for her voice acting, because some of the initial lines are a bit ropey (some are even carried over from the Oblivion days, I think), but as you progress through her storyline she gets better and better. Also, the reaction you hear if you die in battle after she considers you a friend is heartbreaking.

(The other NPCs' voice acting is... Not so great, but they are mostly fairly minimally involved anyway, tbh. And Heneri is a hoot, either way. Voiced by Emma's son, I believe.)

Well yes I seen some of the posting babout Vilja and her initial lines but like you said after you get into playing the game with her she's allot of fun. I had almost forgot about that reaction when you die. As I had only died once while using her and it was by a bunch of Foresworn.<I hate foresworn> and I was out of potions. Henni I laugh allot after we get her out of the bottle. Especially the comment she maeks about the loud mouthj Nord trying to drink her. LOL

Vilja + Inigo is a great mod combo, I'd have to load up a game and endeavour to get them killed, but I have a feeling they both default to 'essential'.

Lydia is so tempting as a companion, because she's the first real follower you earn - but she's a bit squishy as you've discovered. Sadly for her these days, as soon as she's put in to my service she gets sent home to lounge about, her days of swinging a sword over.

In a vanilla game playthrough with no mods though, I normally try and get Mjoll the Lioness early on, as she's probably the easiest essential flagged follower you can pick up early in the game (certainly worth the time to complete her quest).

there are mods that allow you to set all followers as essential
