Upgrade?
I have the "old" version of skyrim, as in the first that came out.
Is there a way to upgrade the older version to the new, without having to buy a whole new game???

You have to own Skyrim with all the dlc to get Skyrim se for free but that offer already expired so you have to buy Skyrim se if you want to play it but I rather stick with oldrim cause of more mpds

There is no upgrade to the original game, the Special Edition is a completely separate title. You will end up with two versions of Skyrim in your library if you buy the new one. And no, there's no way to get it for free.

There used to be. I got it for free because I had all the DLC.

Yes, but only if you had the game and all dlc before release of the sse

On the plus side, if you get SE you can permanently convert your oldrim to Enderal. That's worth the investment if you ask me.

You have probably heard this already but to be legible to recieve Skyrim Special Edition you need Skyrim with all of its official three DLCs which is Heartfire, Dawnguard, and Dragonborn. This offer has passed though with the release of the game so you need to buy it but honestly there is little difference between the original and the new one just some graphic changes.

You are a... "bit" late for the offer... just... half year.

Nope.

But it's not an upgrade for the original game, it's completely separate from it.
Dangit, I had no idea that the Legendary Edition and the Special Edition were different items and SE seems to for PC be ONLY on Steam, so I bought the Legendary Edition in January from Amazon because I thought that was the name of the PC version! Sooo lame.

Seems like you're an idiot twice over.
