help with shadr and sapphire

so i heard that sapphire has some unique dialogue about shadr's quest if you're the guild master so i ignored them when i first came to riften,now i can't find shadr to start the quest and after using console commands to teleport to him i find him dead in a weird place which i presume is for despawned npcs,so how can i start his quest so i can talk to sapphire because she just hangs around on the bridge and will not talk to me at all

The only way I know of is to load a save back before you ignored them.

i went to riften straight after helgen and i don't have a save there anyways since i deleted my old saves not so long ago

I have the same problem I too ignored Shadr when I first went to riften , I can't finish the quest where you give her the letter and she gives you the valuable sapphire she has . I 'm at level 79 and deleted back saves a long ways back so I can tell you there is no way that I know of to complete the quest because I have looked online for solultions for the I have no buisness with you get out of my face that she keeps saying to my Khajiit character as she hangs out on the bridge in riften . I am to the point where I just want to kill her even though I'm guildmaster of the theives guild but dont want to have the guild out me for doing so . I don't know of any fixes for this issue with sapphire except load a previous save .It frustrating to me as well but without a previous save this task is unfinishable as far as I know . I play on PC too so I dont know if any console commands that can fix the problem .

i tried to spawn a new shadr after i found mine has died but he just talks about being a horse rancvher or whatever,not saying anything about sapphire

When you first arrive in Riften, Sapphire is speaking with Shadr. Right after they speak, is when you should talk with Shadr. If you wait too long, the quest will go away.

I think shadr is dead in my game as well as I have waited for him to show up at the riften stables he is nowhere to be found around riften either so this quest is not finshable in my game

Sapphire goes to the cistern after you complete the Goldenglow Estate quest. Why do you need her to go there?

she doesn't,you need to finish the quest with shadr first

"Simply opening up the console and using the command resetquest freeformriften22 followed by setstage freeformriften22 10 re-enables the quest trigger dialogue with Shadr. Don't simply reject helping him (as it triggers the bug) and just talk to Sapphire as usual and the quest will proceed as normal. If you do want to reject helping Shadr (and forfeit the quest reward), you will need to use stopquest freeformriften22 to get Sapphire to leave the Bee and Barb and move to The Ragged Flagon." -uesp wiki

it fixed the problem,hope this helps if anyone has the same problem

i did player.moveto (shadr's id) then selected his corpse and did resurrect,then teleported to riften with coc riftenorigin,teleported shadr to me,and then finally did the above

Everything was good until that - it's been repeated time after time never to use resurrect on a unique NPC

"You should never resurrect any named characters in Skryim. Game runs death scripts for each of them. Using resurrect command does not undo these scripts and there is no known way to reverse them.

Resurrecting character that has death script records in save file usually ends up badly. In best case scenario you get a useless NPC that is not tied to any quest and is cut out of the progress. In worse case scenario you get NPC that is comes constantly more and more bugged, tangling game scripts even further and ends up making a real mess out of your game.

Resurrect is among commands that has been classed as dangerous and should not be used in a game. It is a developer test command and should be treated as such. If you already made a mistake of using that command, then load a save before that." - Ilja

If you cannot load a save from before Shadr dies, either accept the fact that he is dead and just forget about any quest that you'll miss because he is no longer avaiable, or start a new game. Those are the ONLY options if a save made prior to Shadr dying is not available. Trying to continue the game with a resurrected Shadr who has already had his death script run only risks further breaking the game.
