Using Console Commands to change the base attack value of weapons
I started playing Skyrim for the first time last week and got Nettlebane pretty early on in the game. Because of this the attack damage for Nettlebane is set pretty low, 10 damage with no smithing improvements. I can craft elven daggers now which offer better stats, but would prefer to stay with Nettlebane for flavor reasons.

Is there a way to use the console commands to change the base attack damage of an item? I realize that there are mods out there that do this sort of thing, but I only care about Nettlebane and don't want to use a mod as that will prevent me from getting achievements, while console commands don't (because reasons). Thanks for the help!

Just download the achievement enabler mod. Otherwise you can increase your smithing skill through the console, temper it, and reset your smithing skill I guess.

No.

Your options boil down to either "use a mod" or "raise your smithing skill".

There's a mod available which re-enables achievements when using other mods.

Although I advise against this, you could use the creation kit to change nettlebanes attack value permanately
Um, Nettlebane is only useful against the Spriggans, other than that it's a single quest item, just enchant an Elven Dagger and name it Nettlebane.

Or an ebony dagger, as they share a model.

player.modav onehandedpowermod 100 (or200, 300)
( for Maces, Swords, War Axes )
can double all of their damage at the same time.

player.modav twohandedpowermod 100 (or200, 300)
( for Battleaxes, Greatswords, Warhammers )
can double all of their damage at the same time.

For some reason "player.modav onehandedpowermod" doesn't include daggers,
you have to use "player.setav attackdamagemult" to do it.
