Push to grip option?
Is there an option that can turn off push to grip? I find that having to keep the button pressed to grip the club makes me lose a fair bit of precision, I really just want to be able to grip the controller better.

This has been addressed on a couple other threads. It's something we are considering adding in a future update.

Ok! Thanks for your reply. Awesome game by the way, VR is the perfect medium for golf and I've waited a while for this.

what to do you mean by considering? Are you going to do it or no? now it seems like you wont I would be better off getting a refund. Your messaging is very confusing on this?

Ha, I thought the same thing. What is there to consider? It seems like a simple option to implement. Turn on or off in Options if it's too controversial.

We are listening to the community for feedback and are doing our best to accommodate you. We do have an overall roadmap though that we need to stick to so even small changes have impacts on what we do. There is a task to add this as an option to gameplay settings and you will see it in a future update.

We can’t promise anything to you though as we don’t want to get hopes up and then disappoint. The fact that you feel the need to threaten a refund if you don’t get a feature is a little concerning. We are here to listen to your feedback and hopefully make the best VR golf experience we can. Help us by giving constructive feedback and more than two days to come up with a solution for it.

This will be that last time I address this. Yes I cant play your game the way you have made it due to arthritis in my fingers. Can you understand that holding the trigger down for prolonged amounts of time puts lots of pressure on the joint and as consequence causes significant pain to me after playing the game.

That renders your game useless to me and unplayable due to mechanics you created.

The messaging has been off as well. Yesterday you said it was being looked at. So I tried to work on work around (twist ties) but today see well maybe it wont be. I think it is fantastic and great game I do.

I agree that I am a special case and if I cant be accommodated that is fine no problem but dont expect me not to get my money back.

And the only reason reason I am here talking to you is to find a way to keep the game and support you. If it too expensive to fix fine just say so it isnt a big deal.

So please let me know what is concerning about the above post?

I appreciate the clarification on your condition and we have heard the request from a number of folks on here. I just wanted to be sure that you understood our stance on trying to take feedback and applying it to our existing goals for the project. I didn’t want you to feel you needed to refund the game because we haven’t been able to confirm 100% the feature would be added.

As I mentioned it’s only been two days and there has been a lot of feedback we’re trying to digest and prioritize it. I can confirm that the ‘sticky clubs’ are very high on that list. So please bear with us and keep that feedback coming.

Its really good to hear sticky clubs are being considered for addition to the game, I too have trouble with my hands and get a lot of pain from holding down the trigger for and length of time.

How I wish I could go back in time and change some of the stupid things I did as a teenager. Anyway this was the main reason I visited the discussion boards today so I'm happy

Great I look forward to what you guys are doing. In the inter I will continue to try a twist tie etc till you get a chance to look at it.

In the meantime, you could try a rubber band that you could slide down on the trigger until they get it added. That way since you need to grab a club for the swing, then release it for the next shot when you grab the next club, you could slide it up and down easier.

Please add this. It's the nuber one issue in my opinion. Holding the trigger is very awkward and immersion breaking. If we could just hold the controller without having to hold the trigger it would be very much like a real club.
CakeM1x Oct 23, 2016 @ 11:02am
By holding down the trigger with my right hand it makes it impossible for me to grip the club correctly rendering my swing motion awkward and inconsistent. It's no big deal if you only use 1 hand but if you do 2 then it just doesn't feel right.

I too might have to refund because inconsistency in repetitious movements kills the fun. I hope they move this up on priorities because it seems like a lot of experienced golfers have the same complaints.

Yes I 100% Agree. Holding down the trigger for as long as the game requires is uncomfortable and I don't have any hand problems at all. There's no way I could get through 18 holes without having to give my finger a break. Please just make an an option where if you want the trigger method you can, but otherwise just toggle the club the tigger. This should be the number one issue followed by graphical optimization imo. This is the only VR game I haven't been able to run on high.

it is a post from 2016. Is the option asked for has been added in game?
Is it still required to press trigger to grip the club?
Hooker May 28, 2021 @ 4:07am
No, there's an option to select whether to auto grip or trigger grip.
