Binding for Reverb G2

Hi Guys, I've just bought the HP Reverb G2 and was so excited to play The Golf Club VR, however it seems that there is no per-determined binding? I cannot go further than the mini island as it wont let me use the tracking pad to click continue. Does anybody know if there is a way around this? I'm new to this so not sure if I'm missing something obvious. Thanks!

I believe the devs made it clear a long time ago there was no further development on this title. I could be wrong, hopefully they will respond

It's a bit of a shame because it looks absolutely fantastic maxed out on a G2.

I have "played" it on the Reverb G2, but it did not seem to want to work correctly. I got past the main menu, using my left controller. It took a minute or two, and I forget exactly what button let me use the "pointer" but it took time. After each swing it takes a fair amount of time to get my shot, and it takes a substantial amount of time to teleport. My swings were ok, though it will lose tracking at the height of your backswing, pretty close to unplayable. It is a great game though, on my cv1.

I'm in the same boat. I always enjoyed this game on CV-1, and was looking forward to the visual upgrade of the G2. However, I've hit a wall in terms of not having useful controls. I tinkered around with the controller bindings, but I couldn't make it usable.

To me it was not that the controls did not work, it is that the were so unresponsive. I would hit the "approach the ball" button several times before I finally got there. It just made playing so painfully slow.
I think we are just out of luck.

I had the same problem! Very frustrating.
It turns out the default bindings don't use the joystick at all. I set up the joystick and the top button so they work like a track pad. I also mapped the A button to the right side track pad click (I originally mapped this to the grip button but that was a nightmare), and the B button for the menu.
I've posted this in the public bindings if anyone wants to use it.

I can play now, but for some reason snapping to the ball location puts me waaay too close to the ball! If anyone knows what I'm doing wrong, I'd appreciate the advice.

I'm not having any issues with resetting to the ball location. It seems to be working fine for me.

I just tried it and the bindings work great, thanks man. I am with you, I get a little bit inconsistent distances from the ball, but easily fixable.

I think the tracking does not quite work as well as it did on my CV1, I am having a bit of difficulty hitting consistent shots (especially from rough lies, not that I would ever hit the rough in real life), but it could be just me.

Indeed, the tracking in this game is not awesome on the G2. It's not horrible, but it's definitely not as good as the CV1.

In addition to issues with big swings, I have some weirdness with putting. If I use a single controller in my right hand, then use my left handle on the controller to steady my putts, the tracking gets wonky. I think this happens because my left hand is obscuring too many of the lights on the controller from being visible to the HMD cameras.

My workaround for now is to put my left hand on my right elbow, rather than on the controller in my right hand. That gives me pretty good steadying, without the bad tracking for putts.

When Steam VR updated last week an official bind was included. Not checked it out myself, but public binds are found by tabbing out to the steamVR menu while in game and going to controller. You will see the custom tab from there.

This update (1.24) brought in controller emulation. I've not tried it with Golf Club, but it's worked in other games for me. Might be the one all solution.
