TGCVR and TGC course designer
I ponder on getting TGC to make my own courses. Is there a possibility to examine a work in progress (made with the designer) in VR, or have I first to finish a course and upload it for viewing in VR.

Your course will only playable in TGCVR once it has been published and made available to the public.

Ok, as I thought, unfortunately quite restrictive.

There were discussions early on about supporting the course editor in TGCVR, but unforetunately it was well beyond our budget. So we decided to make sure that content created in TGC could still still be made accessible to play in TGCVR.

Oh, well, as always: the money! Ask Oculus, they may have some millions to burn ;)

Another shot on the same topic. I still feel tempted doing my own courses for seeing them in vr.
Could I modify an existing (already published) course to my liking? Let's say change weather, scale of trees, props, size of water ripples etc. I would assume probably not, but please prove me wrong. Since I have the feeling that parts of the world are too tall ( e.g. trees), I would make most things 30% smaller to get a realistic scale.
Could I, for instance, make a single hole course and get it published to view it in vr?
It would, however, be much more convenient to somehow circumvent the publishing and be able to directly access a TGC created course with TGCVR. Is this against your policy?

You cannot edit currently existing courses that have been published by other users. You can edit a course you yourself have published and re publish it. You are also free to create a single hole course if you wish, yes. Just be aware that once a course has been published, it is permanently part of the TGC course library.

Unfortunately, this means, that the course library gets vastly inflated by unfinished "test" courses.

I wouldn't say "vastly inflated". Until the addition of TGCVR there hasn't been much reason for creating test courses in TGC, since you can play them while editing. Which means the TGCVR community would need to create a considerable amount of courses to create a noticeable inflation to our 130k+ library that already exists.

The tools we provide for building a course in TGC offer plenty of detail options that will enable TGCVR users to make a TGCVR friendly course within the TGC course editor, including a measurement tool that enables our creative community the means to fine tune everything down to the inch.

When it comes to scaling objects, like trees and rocks (which I know you've mentioned in the past have felt too large), you can get a feel for what is possible with a single test course.

But for the record, we will not be offering the TGC course editor within TGCVR.

I wasn't exactly asking for the course editor within TGCVR but for the option to view a TGC created course file directly within TGCVR.

Understood. Unforetunately there's very little time left in our timeline and a feature like this is beyond our scope.
