Virtuix Omni Support?
I know this game has support in the Omniverse. Does it have support on steam for consumers? I will purchase if it does.

ummm....... this game dont have any movement options like other games where you advance by walking around, you move by shooting at a magical ring and it puts you at that location, by looking at the video you can already tell that there is no use for such a gimmicky device such as the Virtuix Omni to enjoy this game.

Regardless of your opinion of the Omni, as you can see on this link it is listed as a supported game. http://www.virtuix.com/games/

its supported but it doesnt add anything thing to the game play since you cant walk around and with the ring around your lower body and hips its kinda of a discomfort for shooting at certin angles.

it reminds me of this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDpY06U9KhQ

You obviously have not tried the Omni. Yes, it's not perfect but it does work and the ring is really not that terrible it doesn't restrict shooting down too bad unless you wanted to shoot you own feet. I'm not here to convince you. It doesn't matter to me that you don't approve of it or not. I simply want to know if the developer intends to add the Omni support for the consumer version of the game that was already added to the commercial version.

QuiVr does not support the Virtuix Omni Treadmill (it doesn't make sense with our locomotion system of teleporting across massive distances) though we will be working with Virtuix in their Omniverse arcades :)

So the Omni version has different walking locomotion?

I can understand not wanting both locomotion options in multiplayer but please consider releasing omni support in some way to consumers. If only single-player or a lan only version. Thanks!

Sorry, what I meant is that in the Omniverse arcades QuiVr will be playable in the normal Vive roomscale stations, not in the Omni Treadmill stations, there is no version of QuiVr (for arcades or otherwise) that supports the Omni locomotion system, the maps for QuiVr require movement across hundreds of meters in a seconds and would not really work for any 1-to-1 locomotion system.

Okay, I don't quite understand why it's on the omniverse when it doesn't support the Omni. Thanks for the clarification though.

That's too bad, I'm looking for games that support the Omni.

At this time we only have a few with SDK support outside of the Virtuix made games. (Omni Arena, TRAVR: Training Ops, TRAVR: Shadow Ops)

AFFECTED: The Manor (I was told this would be updated for Omni support today but it hasn't yet.)
Karnage Chronicles
The Bellows (This had some weak support for the old firmware. Maybe broken with new omni firmware.)
VRZ Torment (May require a registry hack.)

If you go here though you can find my guide on how to play a bunch more games.

This group lists all the games which should work with the Omni after using my guide. Only a few tested so far though. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/Full_LocomotionVR

Thanks Evol. I honestly haven't tried the newest firmware, but I'm looking at the Karnage Chronicles with some hope.

The old firmware wasn't that great - I actually bought a couple of Vive trackers to try to write my own tightly coupled drivers, but got busy writing a book on VR for a publisher. It's nearly finished (whew) so I'm looking closer at the Omni now!

I'll check out your guides - thanks for the pointers!

Your welcome! The new firmware provides a good improvement in the range of the Y axis.

The player doesn't have any locomotion in the game, that is the answer you are looking for.

The player holds the position and doesn't walk or run, it just turn around to shoot. If there is a new spot to shoot in the environment the player shoots and arrow to that spot and appears there.
Once again the player never walk/run/dash in the game.
