Hello,
the lasso tool in RealityCapture is used just for selecting some points in your 3D model in a lasso-like shape in order to find images corresponding to them (there is a separate button "Find Images" next to the "Points Lasso" tool).
This tool becomes active (clickable) just when you are in a 3D view of a model and you have tie points enabled (ticked off in the 3D scene context tab).

Does the program have the function of deleting individual points? (like in AgisoftPhotoscan)

You can use a filtering tool for this purpose.

Hm why exactly do you have to delete points? The results are usually not messed up afaik. Photoscan results basically ALWAYS required me to fix the point cloud... Reality Capture not a single time.

You can always delete/cut/split polygons afterwards if you desire.
