When I try to create an account for playing via internet, there comes the message: an invalid game box id was entered. But I copied the product key I got from steam. What is the problem?

The whole Cossacks series used GameSpy for multiplayer. GameSpy multiplayer servers shut down on 31th May 2014.

Gerappa - youre wrong - The servers for cossacs 2 are still running.The Problem is although that the cd keys of physical copy and steam copy are different - 15 and 16 digit.I am searching for other solutions

You are right, sorry for the misinformation. Cossacks 2 multiplayer servers are still running.

Back in 2011 I registered with the CD-key from Steam and I can login. But if I try to edit my profile i get the same invalid gamebox id error message.
