Defeating Scurvy!
I made a video to help out anyone who's having problems defeating the 3rd fighter. For sure, the hardest in the game to beat.

Thanks for the helpful video, man. This pirate dude is a workout and a half, esp the later phases.

This is ridiculous, my headset flew off trying to fight this guy. What a horribly balanced encounter.

wear a hat, it helps keep it stable

Huh, so really looks like you have to lean way over to dodge those. That helps a lot!

Yeah...I've found the foolproof solution is to (already) have long hair, tie it back in a pony tail, and put that between the two bottom straps in the back of the Vive. Solid.

I've honestly had a really hard time beating the second character...

Me too. I just got her like 10 minutes ago. It's because(imo) her aerial attack is too good. I was moving WAY out of the way of it and getting hit, still.

You don't have to dodge the headbut, you can block it and counter attack. As far as when he goes berserk I was hoping to find a way to sucker punch him just before he attacks; like many of the barrages in Punch Out can be short cutted with a well timed jab although that appears to not be the case. Was hoping to find a similar short cut on these boards, but this thead seems to describe the best way to beat him that I know how.

Scurvy does not currently have attack interrupts like you are describing. However, we are revamping our interrupt system as part of our mechanics update. Part of this revamp will include more interrupt opportunities for different characters.

You don't need to hold the lean; you can either block it for extra hits or just properly time the lean (which is pretty easy). The two trickiest parts of the fight are learning to WATCH the parrot and not LISTEN to it, because it lies sometimes, and that he starts doing uppercuts in his final phase that require you to break the back and forth dodging pattern for one punch.

He is definitely hard and it took a LOT of tries to beat him without getting hit.

Are you sure you have it tight enough? I keep mine tight enough that I can fling my head around without it slipping and it's still comfortable. Make sure you have the back pulled down taut as well.
