Black Screen after fighting Professor Chaos (Weird fix)

I'm unable to continue playing because of this bug.

I repeated this boss several times, and it always ends up the same way.

I saved after beating the boss (it let me open the in-game menu and the game menu, but not play at all), and now I'm stuck there :/

PS: Can anyone write reviews for the game? Because I couldn't :|

EDIT: If you are fighting Chaos with ♥♥♥♥, change ♥♥♥♥ with another hero. That's it.

inb4 hurr durr pirate ive got the game on uplay since steam is uncecessary for it
Ive got basically the same thing happening, but for another encounter
i won the fight, my game blackscreened and after rebooting the objective isnt complete but the fight wont start again either
ive got no idea what i can do about it

THIS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ THING. WTF

For some reason, ♥♥♥♥ is the one making the bug. I replayed the game from start (my saved is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up), reached at that point, fought Chaos with ♥♥♥♥, Call Girl and Stan, and after I beat him, the bug appeared.

Decided to try removing ♥♥♥♥. I swapped him with the Human Kite. The bug did not appear.

Not helping. Changed party few times completely. Still has that bug.

i hear you and i got a solution as well always have like two save files, reload when the game breaks, do all the windowed ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and yes no ♥♥♥♥, something about him being there will mess it up got really good at beating mecha minion supreme in the time it took me to get out of that one see you when you get stuck at shady acres though.... this does explain the never use the ♥♥♥♥♥ super achievement

I have three saves and not a single one helps. I've even changed space bar into J button, like with old-people bug. Still no help.

then abandon all hope of progress like i have, gotta wait for fixes or start over all i know is it eventually let me beat him old save was the one that helped on mine but its all right by the time its fixed we can have maxed out characters for the end of the game

I feel ya. Had a 20 hr playthrough (spent farmng xp). Though I eventually ended up starting all over (and that's how I managed to "fix" my bug).

I did have a 2nd save, though (besides auto), which was one from the 1st playthrough and the other one from the current one.

it seems to fix if you reload the auto save and complet the fight about 2-3 more times and not having ♥♥♥♥ of coures

try using southpark_TFBW in the folder
