Fractured But Whole Controller Problems
So when I try to play with a controller, all of the buttons work except for B, X and Y. Is anybody else having this problem? I thought maybe I had a bad download so I tried again and it didn't fix the problem. Maybe an early bug that they didn't catch?

I had the same or a similar issue. I use a XBox Wireless controller. In the tutorial I was able to select an attack with (X, Y or B) but I wasn't able to confirm it with the A button. It sometimes worked when I pressed the selection button and the a button at the same time.

I could solve the problem by going into the steam controller settings. In your game library right click on South Park The Fractured But Whole --> Properties --> Controller
Under "Override for South" park select "Enable Steam Input". Make sure you restart your game if it still running.
Now everything works as intended for me. I hope I could help someone with this solution.

Since mine is working fine, I can only add that I ran the Logitech Gaming Software for my controller (which is Logitech) before I ran the game and checked all the buttons, D-pad, and sticks in there. Since they worked in there and I am having no problem in-game, it is possible that running the Software may have done something which allows mine to work. This is assuming, of course, that you are using a Logitech controller. If nothing else, it seems worth a try. Good luck.

Same problem here. I've used an authentic xbox 360 and xbox one controller on my PC and whenever you hit A it just performs an X action. If I want to attack I have to press and hold both X and A but when you try Y or B and A it switches you back to the X action. Did the devs ever hear of testing their game before release? -.- I was looking forward to the game, but this is garbage.

I have the same problem with Xbox 360 controller, all buttons seems to be working except X, Y and B. In other games all works fine.
Does anyone knows how to fix this issue?

Are you using any software with the controller?

No, no additional SW. Just the drivers that Windows 10 automatically installed when i connected the controller.

Does the game work normally if you use Keyboard & Mouse instead of the controller?

We'd advise checking out the Troubleshooting here.[support.xbox.com]

Yes, keyboard and mouse works ok, but it doesn't feel like the best option to play the game.

I didn't find any solution for my problem from your link.

I want to state it again, I experience this problems only with South Park: Fractured but Whole, other games (Cuphead, Spec Ops: The Line, Assassins Creed: Syndicate and even first South Park: Stick of Truth) works without any problems.

It was only to test, to see if there was button issues on the Keyboard rather than a solution to the issue.

I understand that it's only with FBW, but we still need to ensure you've performed this troubleshooting. As all games are made differently, it can be a specific thing with one game that isn't seen in other games.

Try taking the settings file, moving it to the desktop and launching the game again. You can find this here:

When using a xbox one controller my cursor just goes to the left. The game senses the right thumb stick is stuck to the left. Only game I have this problem. Tried three different controllers and new batteries. You can't use inspection mode, mini toilet game, or navigate the menus. The game went crazy and my character just kept walking to the left. Keyboard and mouse work fine. Tried trouble shooting steps above. Still have the same problem.

No, I'm using a GameSir G3. No software required. All drivers are up to date and have been uninstalled and reinstalled.

Apologies for the delayed response.

shawn7803, Just to confirm, you went through the Xbox troubleshooting as well? Do you have any other peripherals aside from the Keyboard & Mouse plugged in?

Unfortunately I'm not sure why this would not work for the game, but as it's not an official supported controller unfortunately there's a limit to the troubleshooting I can provide for this.

It may be worth trying it with software that emulates the controller as an Xbox controller, as this can sometimes help with issues such as this.

Thank you

My controller is emulated as an Xbox controller. It's listed as such in my connected devices page. The only thing I can assume is that the game doesn't agree with it because it's not a "licensed" Xbox controller. Just sad because this is the only game that this controller disagrees with and now I'll have to buy one just so I can play

Unfortunately that may be the case.

It's worth noting that the game does run quite well on K&M, if that is an option that you can use.
