Game won't launch on steam deck from ubi-dumb launcher

I recently picked up TFBW cause of the sale and have been trying for over a day to get it to launch on my steam deck. I sign into the ubisoft connect and locate the game (mind it does not supporting any of my controls beside touch screen) and when I click on the play button the screen fades to black and goes right back to the launcher???? Has anyone been able to play on steam deck or is the compatibility mark a lie?

I played about 2,3hours and had to reset my steam deck 2 times cause of game freezes. Think steam deck compatibility is a lie.

uplay isnt working. this sale was a scam. steam and ubisoft needs to fix the game or remove it from their inventory and refund all of us. this is some grade A ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. fix the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ problem, this ♥♥♥♥ is infuriating. like we all have money to waste....its ♥♥♥♥♥♥ 2023 ppl

I'm able to after re-launching the game/launcher a few times. On the third it finally detected my steam account and auto logged into my Ubi account. I'm also experiencing the full system freezes at arbitrary moments during game-play. During such the system goes into a full thermal "runaway" where the system will drastically overheat and pin the internal fan to MAX. This temperature to touch and fan-exhaust I would consider to be dangerous levels and would seriously need to be addressed by the developers involved; Both Ubi and Valve.

Disabling the Uplay in-game overlay seems to fix the crashing issue for me on steam deck

1. Go to desktop mode

2. Launch the game in desktop mode

3. When the game launches into title screen, quit out of the game

4. The Ubisoft Connect icon at the bottom of the task bar. Click it to open

5. Go to settings and disable the Ubisoft overlay

6. Go back to Gaming Mode and launch the game like normal

Any fixes anyone? Im unable to play this game now, have been playing it for 3 hours on my deck without problems
