you made us all very sad.
simple as that.
to go further it shows you the kinda support you get with uplay when you have a problem with a game, as ive read many people who have said uplays support was little help with there problems.
so dont try to dismiss everything so easily, just because you miss the meaning.
You're reaching. The people responsible for the compatibility of the new Far Cry with various GPUs are certainly not the same people who maintain Uplay. Moreover, just because some random dude isn't getting a personalized response from game developers doesn't mean anything.
Arguments like yours show just how desperately weak your case against Uplay is.
also, uplay and ubisoft are ran by the same company.
so when you get less quality from one of there divisions it reflects on the whole company.
as they should atleast try to help people with the problems, and if they dont know whats wrong or how to fix it, then they need to do more research on the problem as theres bound to be more who appear with the same problem.
which im done talking to you, as im no debater, and this will become rather pointless as your soley trying to discredit everything i say, and take jabs at me, so have fun finding a new target
Uplay and Steam are basically the same service. If I buy a game through Uplay, it shouldn't require Steam. If I buy a game through Steam, it shouldn't require Uplay.
Requiring me to install an additional program (when there is no justification to do so) just to play a game is a great example of bloatware.
This is nothing but a stunt by Ubisoft to make Uplay's statistics look better.
The bottom line is that if a company doesn't want to use Steam for DRM and updates... then I don't see why they would sell their game on Steam.
They put it on Steam because it has the largest subscriber base. Steam is the best place to sell your game if it you want it seen, sold, popularized.
Some post ago someone said that publishers were the problem so Gabe/VALVe invented Steam. Uplay is an Ubisoft digital distribution platform and DRM system. The ptoblem is that Ubisoft isn't solving any problem with UPlay. They are creating a problem ...and the problem they are creating is shinning a light as to why publishers ARE a problem. Their greed & necessity to push their platform is creeping back into the forefront of public opinion in a negative way. If UPlay instead became an open system where I could chose WHERE I wanted to purchase a title then we'd have a different arguement about which platform is better. But all we can ask for, now, at a minimum is to decouple the two systems to give competition a chance. But even if the two systems were decoupled, Ubisoft's greed would dictate that their title would not be allowed on another platform.
Are you seriuously arguing over who's older? Crying about uplay is foolish enough as it is. I'd tell you not to go full ♥♥♥♥♥♥, but sadly it appears you were born that way.
* He isn't arguing who's older. He stating facts of his life to add some credibility in his experiences as to how the industry has changed over the decades.
* He isn't crying about UPlay either. He's offering some comparitive facts and constructive criticism about the two platforms.
Unlike PhoenixKnight though, your post added no useful information to the discussion because it is lacking facts as well as constructive criticism. To sum it up it is just an opinion and s ome eye rolling. So I'd recommend to you to find something worth while to add to the discussion like your opinion (based in some kind of fact) as to why UPlay is value add to a Steam title. Because to be perfectly honest, I agree with PhoenixKnight in regards to Ubisoft holding a title for a few months from a platform if that means the platform won't get any Double DRM or separate identity collection. That's because I hold the opionion of not supporting any double DRM. and if I want the title bad enough I'll buy it from the source, UPlay, and not make Steam be the 2nd DRM. So how about you. Where are you going to buy it from and why?
just thought id share this, as EA lately has mainly release drm games correct?
well finnaly they are allowing there games to be sold drm free
hopefully someday uplay follows the same note.
