[SOLVED] Black Screen after pressing enter to play, alt+enter does not work.

The proposed pinned fix does not work. When I press alt+enter, my game crashes anyways. I assume this is due to my laptop having two GPUs. I try to run the game using my Nvidia GPU but that does not fix the problem either. Please help ):

EDIT: I fixed this by running as admin AND running in Windows 7 Compatibility Mode.

Rebooting my pc fixes the issue I have when able to hit enter on the menu then the screen going black. Usually only get this problem when quiting the game then coming back to play it later. Alt+enter didn't fix it when I had the problem too.

Alt+Escape might work. It fixes some of the black screen/frozen gameplay issues later on.

Nope any form of minimizing the window or alt tabbing crashes the game

Have you tried verifying the files and/or reinstalling? Also, checking you have the latest video drivers isn't a bad idea.
(I'm pretty sure it's just the game being buggy, but trying to offer some proactive potential fixes)

if running windows 10 might need to use alt+shift+enter, at least i did.

I've found another easier workaround.

I kinda know this kind of bug from another game (a Star wars MMO) On that game the bug produces a crash on startup instead of a black screen but it seems to occure the same way and has the same workaround.

This seems to be a Win 10 only bug and only appears when you either move the mouse or do mouse clicks while the game is loading.

So simply after you do your mouse click to started the application just make sure not to move your mouse at all until the game screen is showing. This way you shouldn't get a black screen.

Maybe this will also help the devs where to look for if they want to fix this bug.

Crashed twice on me, first thing I did was unplugged the xbox controller.. loaded right up.

I have the same issue and the "solution" dosent work for me. The ubisoft support SUX, only automatic texts with zero REALY help
